After Phil Ochs committed suicide back in the 1970s, there was a tribute
concert at the Felt Forum in NYC (at least I think it was at the Felt
Forum--the mists of time are in the way). But I swear that I remember seeing
cameras filming the whole thing. Does anyone know if it was ever shown
anywhere or released in any way? Is it possible to get a copy?

Just curious...

I have some notes (may have also recorded it from a broadcast but can't
dig up a tape just now):

Phil Ochs Memorial Concert
Felt Forum, Mad. Sq. Garden, 5/28/76
Seems to me this was shown in a TV b'cast (likely a PBS Soundstage
program) later that same year. Don't have the track list but here are
the artists/personalities who appeared:
Ramsey Clark (introduction)/Dave Van Ronk/Melanie/Bob Gibson/Jim
Glover/Glover & Jean Ray/Eric Anderson/Pete Seeger & Fred
Hellerman/Oscar Brand/Tim Hardin/Melanie (again)/Jerry Rubin/David
Blue/Tom Rush/Peter Yarrow/(group finish)

Does this jog anyone else's memory? Sounds like a pretty interesting
program. Good reason to start looking for that tape.

Bob,
Of course this jogs my memory. I pulled out my pocket diary from 1976 and I had
a listing of the performers that I saw at The felt Forum that night:
Cora Weiss
Ramsey Clark
Bob Gibson
One More Parade
That's the Way It's Gonna Be
Danny Kalb
Phil's sister
Dave Van Ronk
Len Chandler
Melanie
Chords of Fame
Miranda
Eric Anderson
Jim Glover
Jim and Jean
Allen Ginsburg
Peter Yarrow
Pat Sky
Pete Seeger & Fred Hellerman
William Kunstler
Jerry Rubin
Abbie Hoffman
Oscar Brand
David Blue
Odetta
Tim Hardin
Stu Alpert
Rev.Kirkpatrick
Pete Seeger & Lee Hays
Dave Dellinger

Not in specific order, I fear, but I remember it to be a great evening.

This show was Broadcast first on the radio WNYC about a month after the show.
an then months later an Edited version was on PBS TV Some artist were left off
the TV.. Ramblin Jack Elliott (Who did Bound For Glory & Pretty Boy
Floyd),Larry Estridge(The guy who almost ruined the Chile benefit during Blowin
In The Wind before Ochs Pulled his Mic),Tom Rush(Who did a great version of No
Regets & Flower Lady With Jean Ray,
There was lots of talk of Dylan being at this show but he was not there. The
Biggest applause came when they were flashing photos of Phil an they showed the
one were he was sitting on the Zimmerman Tomestone.

It was a wonderful night. I sat next to John Berendt who wrote about it for
Esquire. He later became very wealthy and well known for his continuing best
seller: "Midnight In the Garden Of Good and Evil".
