motorcycle accident

this is what i remember reading about the accident, from various books.
bob was riding down one of the dirt roads in woodstock, having been up for
three or four days, and fell off the bike somehow. from pictures and
recordings of around that time, bob is extremely thin and worn out looking
(and sounding). he's at the top of the world, rivaling only the beatles,
he's promised to write a bookthat he hasn't really started, but he's also
touring and writing songs for a new album and just gotten married.
there were reports at the time of bob breaking vertabrae in his neck and
having to wear a neck brace, but there were also rumors that the accident
wasn't really that bad. either way, bob had a well deserved break, read a
lot of books, had a family, and cleaned up some. (compare the thin, angular

i don't know how accurate this all is, it's just the story i remember.
