In 1582, Gregorian Calendar Adjustment Day; Pope Gregory XIII issued a
decree that the day following today should be next day became October
15; this corrected the problem with the previously-used Julian
calendar which was ten days behind because of the extra leap year
days. Most Catholic countries adopted it, but Britain and the
American Colonies held out until 1752.

true, only the jokes have been changed to protect the station ...
KNXT, in cooperation with the Itinerant Yam Pickers of southern
California, cautiously presents... Carson's Cellar," a half-hour low-
budget sketch comedy show, which soon leads to a writing job for
young Johnny Carson on the Red Skelton show.
In 1957, the television sitcom "Leave It to Beaver" made its debut on
CBS-TV. Starring Barbara Billingsley as Mrs. June Cleaver, Hugh
Beaumont (Ward Cleaver), Tony Dow (Wally), & Jerry Mathers as the
Beaver. Beaver Cleaver got in trouble for the first time. June even
did the housework in three strands of pearls, fashion plate dresses,
makeup and high heels.
In 1961, "The Alvin Show", TV Cartoon Show; debut on CBS. David Seville
and the Chipmunk characters (ALVIN, SIMON and THEODORE) join CBS-TV's
Wednesday prime time lineup.
