Does anyone know where I can find the song 500 MILES by THE
COMPLAINERS? I heard it once on Dr. Demento's Best of 1995
aired in Vegas on Dec. 31, 1995... and thought it was
hilarious. I have not been able to find the song since...
but also just found out who it was by from a web site.

Amazon.Com does not have anything by that name...

Try the "Benny and Joon" soundtrack. I know it was on a Proclaimers album
long before it was on the soundtrack, but the soundtrack is probably a
lot easier to find.

My friend Carmel turned me onto the Proclaimers years before they used it
in the movie. Another great song is "Letter from America," which was
heard briefly in the soundtrack of "The Commitments."

No No No... it is not the song from BENNY AND JUNE. It is a
spoof of that song... that is why it is by THE COMPLAINERS.

Thanks for your help though... but I really don't like the
Proclaimers song. The Complainer's version was funny (and
probably if I ever track down the song, it will be no where
near as funny).... but its chorus goes "I would walk 500
miles, but that would make me too damn tired" and then
something about so I will walk down to the local bar and get
a beer or something.

I taped that song off Dr. Demento several years back.

And I would walk 500 miles
But that would make me too damn tired
So I'll sit down and I'll buy a car
So I can drive to the local bar

Cool song.
