Great big inappropriately long hugs to anyone who requested that the
Doc play these songs (or any others I wrote lyrics for) during 2008.
I'm thrilled beyond repair. It makes this hobby of mine seem like
something more than just a big sucking time drain. Thanks, y'all, for
your support!

Interesting that both of your big hits this year were parodies of songs that
have had other parodies about them, "I Kissed a Squirrel" by Mike Elliott and
"99 Dead Baboons" by Tim Cavanagh, both of which have made Funny Five/Top Ten
countdowns at least once....
Now, about my idea for a Rupert Holmes takeoff with the hook line "do you like
bean enchiladas?"...r

"You got Schadenfreude on my Weltanschauung!"
"You got Weltanschauung in my Schadenfreude!"
Dude. The line "If you like bean enchiladas" has been bugging by brain
since about, oh, 1979. Do you know if that or any other noteworthy
parody of "Escape" has been recorded?

Not to my knowledge...actually, I've been singing it as "green" since I thought
of the idea myself, but figured "bean" would probably go over better....
It's not the first time I've hit on an improvement to my first attempt at a song
spoof...on alt.movies.silent, I rendered The Tee Set's "Ma Belle Amie" as "Madge
Bellamy" because of the audience, but I originally conceived it as *Ralph*
Bellamy....r
