I would like to get all of the words to a wierd song I
remember from my youth.

The title is/was "Grandma's Lyesoap" I don't remember
who wrote it, who sang it, or the label. The only words
I remember are listed below, if anyone can finish it will
be appreciated.

Do you remember grandma's lyesoap?
Good for everything in the home,
From the dishes to the scrubbing.
It didn't suds it didn't foam.

Oh sing right out for grandma's lyesoap
..................

Do you remember the brothers Skinner?
Washed their ears after dinner
........................
And they haven't heard a thing in years.

g right out for grandma's lyesoap
...............etc

Again thanks. This stupid little song has been floating
through my memory for years and I hope I finally found a
forum to get my answer.

I had this on a 45 by Johnny Stanley, of "The Old Philosopher" fame,
back in the 50s. The record also had a sermon based on Little Bo Peep
and a story about King Arthur's Mines. Anyways, here's what I *think*
the lyrics were.

Do you remember grandma's lye soap?
Good for every thing in the home,

and the secret was in the scrubbing.
It wouldn't suds and wouldn't foam.

Oh, let us sing right out about grandma's lye soap.
It's the finest soap in the land,
for pots and pans and dirty dishes,
and for your face and for your hands.

Brother Herman and brother Therman,
Had an adversion to washing their ears.
Then Grandma washed them, with her lye soap.
And they haven't heard a sound in years

Oh, let us sing right out for grandma's lye soap.
Its the finest soap in the land,
for pots and pans and dirty dishes,
and for your face and for your hands.

Mrs. O'Malley, out in the valley,
Suffered from ulcers, I understand.
She swallowed a cake of Grandma's Lye Soap --
Has the cleanest ulcers in the land!

Oh, let us sing right out for grandma's lye soap.
It's the finest soap in the land,
for pots and pans and dirty dishes,
and for your face and for your hands.

Here's what I remember (and sing to my kids) of Granny's Lie Soap. Hope
it helps:

(Chorus)
Well sing right out
For Granny's Lie Soap
Good for everything in the place
For pots and pans, and dirty dishes,
For your hands, and for your face.

Little Hermam, and brother Sherman,
Had an aversion, to washing their ears,
They washed them out, with Granny's Lie Soap,
And now they haven't heard a word in years.

(Chorus)

Mrs O'Malley, down in the valley,
Had a problem with ulcers, I understand,
She swallowed a cake, of Granny's Lie Soap,
And now she has the cleanest ulcers in the land.

(Chorus)
