Back in the early 60's "Mad" magazine produced an LP with some generalized
parodies of songs of that period, e.g., "Throwing the High School
Basketball Game," and "All I Have Left is His Hubcap." Included were
vocals (= belches) by Alfred E. Neuman. I've tried to find this LP,
rereleased or on CD or in any form, but without success. Does anybody
know where I could find this historic gem?

I believe the good Dr.D has said that "It's a Gas" was published
as an insert in the magazine, thus it'll probably be pretty hard to
find, unless through magazine collectors, and I have no idea what
edition.

Alfred E. Neuman's "It's a Gas" was re-issued on the Born Bad vol.4
compilation from 1989. this should be very much easier to find than the
original flexi.
BTW: another MAD lp ("musically MAD") is part of my novelty sale on my
home page; see url below...

They also released a flexy-disk in the 70's called "Mad Disco"
with:

Side One:
Disco Suicide 5:55
Sorry, No Words 4:25
This Time, This Is My Night 5:30

Side Two:
Barely Alive 5:30
Disco Clap 5:03
It's A Gas 4:30

I still have this rarity, with the Disco version of "It's A Gas"

Well, now what about the Eva Tone Soundsheet issued in 1980, Mad Disco?
Is "It's a Gas" a reissue of the Bigtop track? Or is it remade from
scratch?

Remake. It's possible some of the burps are the same, but the music is
completely new (disco style).

A verse of which includes one of my all-time favorite literary
references:

From my disco suicide

Russ --

I haven't heard that one since I was 11 or 12; thanks for the
memories! It wasn't specifically mentioned in "The Completely MAD"
history of Mad Magazine published several years ago. Argh!!
