Ha-well, umm...OK boyce...

As far as it reappearing in another sketch I couldn't tell ya, but I
believe you are referring to the great Stan Freberg's "Wunnerful
Wunnerful" (sides uh-one and uh-two), in which Alice Lean polkas on
Larry's accordion (Gee Dad, it WAS a Wurlitzer), and Larry Looper gets
thru one note of "The Funny Old Hills" before the bubble machine goes
haywire...and yes, at the end, two crusty ol sailors see a mirage in
the moonlight, all bubbly......

you are referring to "Wun'erful, Wun'erful!", a terrific Lawrence Welk parody
by the great Stan Freberg. This is on the currently available CD "The Very
Best of Stan Freberg", sold by Tower Records and no doubt other sellers.

You can get more info at the unofficial Stan Freberg web page,

Just a side-note... I work at KPCC FM 89.3 [Pasadena, CA.] which has a
show on Sunday nights - "Gee, Dad, It's A Wurlitzer" - hosted by Bob Ralston,
the former organist for Lawrence Welk's band. :)

I think the tune you are talking about is "Loving you has made me
bananas".
Other lyrics in this, I think were, "Your red scarf matches your eyes,
you [should] close the cover before striking. Your father had the
[something] blues, loving you has made me bananas." The announcer in the
recordings says it is from Hotel Sheets(sp?) from downtown plunketville.

The tune/song you are referring to is an old Stan Freberg sketch. It has
appeared on several compilations. I believe the title is called "Wunnerful,
Wunnerful". Stan recreates a mock performance of the Lawrence Welk show, with
several snippets of songs, the Bubble Machine runs amok, the soundstage
detaches from the mainland and floats off to sea, and is spied by a grizzly sea
captain and his mate (Stan Freberg and Daws Butler), while Lawrence Welk is
crying out for help. Bizarre Freberg satire.

I thought it was shipfitter. Guy Marks did some other funny songs as well.

Sounds like you're thinking of Stan Freberg's 'Wun'erful, Wun'erful',
parts one and two. It is available on his album _Greatest Hits_.
