I have the strongest feeling you'll get an answer to your
question soon.

As far as it reappearing in another sketch I couldn't tell ya, but I
believe you are referring to the great Stan Freberg's "Wunnerful
Wunnerful" (sides uh-one and uh-two), in which Alice Lean polkas on
Larry's accordion (Gee Dad, it WAS a Wurlitzer), and Larry Looper gets
thru one note of "The Funny Old Hills" before the bubble machine goes
haywire...and yes, at the end, two crusty ol sailors see a mirage in
the moonlight, all bubbly......

Just a side-note... I work at KPCC FM 89.3 [Pasadena, CA.] which has a
show on Sunday nights - "Gee, Dad, It's A Wurlitzer" - hosted by Bob Ralston,
the former organist for Lawrence Welk's band. :)
I think the tune you are talking about is "Loving you has made me
bananas".
Other lyrics in this, I think were, "Your red scarf matches your eyes,
you [should] close the cover before striking. Your father had the
[something] blues, loving you has made me bananas." The announcer in the
recordings says it is from Hotel Sheets(sp?) from downtown plunketville.

Don't know what you've got in your ears, but that's
"shipfitter"...probably why a lot of people think it's
something else and can't bring themselves to type
it...(incidentally, anyone up for a list of songs under the
heading "I thought he was gonna say something else"?...I'll
rattle off a few)....
Polka Dot Undies
In My Country (by the Therapy Sisters)
I Want To Kiss Her...
A Clean Song (the one about the sailors and the mermaid)
Sweet Violets (this'd be a good alternate name for the list)
...and innumerable versions of "Shaving Cream"
A few others are bubbling around in my head but they're not
this concept all the way through...just an occasional line
that you think is going to rhyme with something
else...(spoken piece for this portion of the list is the
poem recited by Sister Mary Elephant...what did YOU think
was going to rhyme with "the dew kisses the morning grass",
eh?)....r

Sounds like you're thinking of Stan Freberg's 'Wun'erful, Wun'erful',
parts one and two. It is available on his album _Greatest Hits_.
