I just heard that Tiny Tim had a moderate heart attack and is in the
hospital. He is said to be "serious, but stable". Does anyone know what
hospital he's in or any other details?

All I know is that it is in Massachusetts, where Tiny Tim (real name
Herbert Corey) was performing at a Ukelele festival. He is supposed to be
out of the hospital in a couple of days.

Tiny Tim is 64, by the way.

Nation IN BRIEF
Heart Attack Hits Tiny Tim on Stage

From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Tiny Tim was hospitalized in serious but stable condition after
suffering a heart attack on stage during a ukulele concert in
Montague. The 64-year-old balladeer with a falsetto voice and long
black hair was about to croon his first tune at the Uke Expo when he
suddenly collapsed. "He just gets up on stage and he introduces the
band, and then just out of nowhere . . . he just basically passed out.
He fell straight forward, right on his face," said John Petrovato,
owner of the Montague Book Mill where the concert was held. Many in
the audience of 135 were crying, and as Tim was taken to his
ambulance, "people on the lawn started cheering and saying 'Hold on
Tiny Tim,' " Petrovato said. Tim was taken to Franklin Medical Center
in nearby Greenfield, where he remained in the intensive care unit, a
nursing supervisor said.

Interesting, that's what they say in the article too. I checked Joel
Whitburn's Top Pop Singles 1955-1993 last night, and it said he was born
4/12/30. Even Joel is not infallible.

Don't ask me. I have birth years ranging from 1922 to 1933 for Tiny Tim.

Get well Tiny, whatever your age is.

And, quipped Jay Leno the other night, "That's the first time
anyone has ever used the word "stable" about Tiny Tim."

On last Sunday's Dr Demento show they interviewed one of the original
members of the Toyes. The guy's name sounded like "Mog" to me, but I
could be quite mistaken. Anyway, at the end of the interview he quickly
said "Thanks" to those that have helped him over the years, and your
name was at the front of the list!

Oh that's beautiful. Can we call that the cheap shot of the year or do
we have to wait until December?

Wow, cool! I'm honored. Thanks for the tip, I'll be listening for it in
syndication in the next couple of weeks.

BTW, it's Mawg.
