Today, XM Radio announced the dropping of radio station, Special X, which each
week provides the "Best of Dr. Demento" show. To voice concern of the future
of airing of the "Best of Dr. Demento," go to
http://www.xmradio.com/contact_us/contact_us.jsp Select either
"Comment/Questions About Current XM Music Channels" or "Programs/Shows You'd
Like to Hear on XM."

If you want to boost your request by recommending which station it should be
on, the new channel lineup (starting on Feb. 1) for XM Radio is at:
http://www.xmradio.com/lineup/index.jsp or browse the current (though soon to
be outdated) programming:
http://www.xmradio.com/programming/programming_main.html

Tell them to Keep Dr. Demento on Satellite Radio!

Yes, I read that as well! It's in the newsletter that was mailed to
all subscribers.

This is tragic. I will cancel my XM service if they delete the Dr.
Demento show. Special X was one of my most-liked channels (the
Halloween week was just spectacular).

Is there anything that can be done, or has the brief run of Dr. D on
XM came to an end? I would think that an appropriate place for the
show would be on the family comedy channel (151).

Guess it is a good thing I didn't spend $300 last week on it.
That's the problem with this sort of stuff, they are always tweaking
and changing shows.

Check out the forums on xmfan.com .. The people there have been sending off
emails to save Special X.

Whether or not they keep the channel, they've been replying with emails saying
that most of the content of Special X will be spread out among the other
channels.

We need to add a line to that slogan:

"Corporate Radio sucks, and Satellite Corporate Radio sucks way up high"....r

Just got this email from XM:

"Dr Demento will be moving to the XM Comedy channels. At this time I do not
know which channel or any times. You will hear it announced on XM and will
also see it posted at xmradio.com. The XM comedy channels will of course be
promoting the change."

I received a similar email, with similar (but not identical) wording,
from the "Comedy Director" of the XM Comedy and Laugh USA channels!

This is good news. If you were thinking of writing in and showing
support, though, you should still do it!
