Good news, I tuned into WTKW this week and it is still happily playing
Dr. D. It's playing the Halloween show now, and it seems to be coming
in very well.

It uses Abacast, something rather strange, and Windows-only. All
non-Windows users are boned.

Do any other stations still work?

Unfortunately I got in too late to test WKTG, WPYX, and WKIT.

KLFX and KYYS were both playing their normal style of music: not Dr. D.
Have they canceled the show? Haven't seen anything posted here in
some time.

It's awfully quiet around here. If others are like me, they've been
really turned off by Talonian's antics, and not really listening to the
show all that much any more.

I went to WKIT's website last night after hearing on the air that some
other program was happening where Dr. D. use to be. According to
their broadcast schedule, Dr. Demento is no longer aired by them. So
Maine is now Dementoless (WLBZ dropped Dr. D a couple years back).

I live on the edge of WKIT's broadcast range--the "Stars and Moon must
be aligned right" in order to pick-up their signal. The last time I
was that lucky was back around Labor Day and that night the DJ on air
stated Dr. D. would not be heard that night, but didn't state why. So
I assume that's about when the show was dropped.

Hi Josh

KYYS is still playing the show over the air. I don't know if they
stream the show or not. This week they played last weeks nonsense
show again.

That's good to know that they're still playing the show OTA.

They must be sending out an alternate stream online, then, because I
tuned in again to KYYS (streaming) and just got their normal
classic-rock format.

Tried WTKW again this week.

Strange: it started out playing Dr. D, and went fine for about an hour,
then suddenly it just flipped over to their normal format again. So,
the show got cut off after the first hour.

I wonder if the recent time change had anything to do with it?

Are you sure with daylight savings time you tuned in at the right time
because I checked it this week and it was playing.

I'm pretty sure I did. Did you listen for the entire 2 hours? Maybe I
have the starting time wrong, and it started an hour earlier than I
thought.

WTKW is in Syracuse, NY, and not in one of those wack areas that
changes their time zone (Indiana comes to mind).

You may have tuned in the right time after all. They don't stream
local commerials they play music and station promos instead. You may
have caught that because their breaks are sometime 5 0r 6 minutes
long.

That's what I thought, at first. However, the show did not return
after commercial. They started playing music, complete songs in their
normal format, not just filler-music to cover commercials not allowed
to be streamed online. This continued for over 15 minutes, and Dr. D
didn't come back (to my knowledge, I gave up after 15 minutes).

I recorded for almost 3 hrs but the Dr never came back. Another week with a
corrupted download. Is this enough times to suspect a conspiracy??
