About 7 or so years ago when I lived in Alaska I heard a parody song on
an anchorage radio station called "There's a Moose in My House" it was
the funniest dang thing I've ever heard. I was wondering if anyone
happens to know who did this, if I can find a RA, MP3, AU, or any other
sound format of this song (Or perhaps even a CD or tape)

Thanxs for the help

(I do have the last couple seconds of the song dubbed off the radio but
I want to here the whole thing)

Moose in My House by Scott Laningham was on the first Dr. Demento's Basement
Tapes album which members of the Demento Society receive. If you join, it may
still be available for you to purchase, I don't know off the top of my head.
You can email demento...@juno.com and ask.

Go for the membership even if they don't still have BT#1. Each year's album is
the greatest collection of comedy and novelty songs you can find anywhere
(IMHO).

As someone else said, the song is by Scott Lanningham. He also did another
funny song - which I believe our beloved Doctor has only played once or twice -
called "Monkey Motel." Circa 1994, "Monkey Motel" was popular on the
now-defunct kids' radio network Radio Aahs [which would never have played
"Moose In My House" <g>].

Digression: While Radio Disney has in some ways picked up where Radio Aahs left
off, they still don't play most of the songs - some of them completely
HILARIOUS - that Radio Aahs used to play. Monkey Motel is one, of course;
another good example was "Bahamas Pajamas" by Joe Scruggs, which I'm sure would
be a hit on Dr. D's show if he can get ahold of it. Imagine a guy trying to
sing a love song while his "psychic singers" - a pair of cockatoos from
Carracas - constantly second-guess the words he *meant* to sing. What they do
sing is completely unrelated to the real lyrics and usually makes very little
sense. Trust me, it's a riot. :)

Doctor, consider this a request - BAHAMAS PAJAMAS by Joe Scruggs. I hope you
have it. :) [I'd bet cash that Whimsical has heard it before.]

ummmmm.... You may be right there. I know I did hear "Moose" on the local Aahs
station, but they did their own morning show (carried Aahs for the other 20
hours of the day), so it might have been on the morning show that I heard it.

They had one of the best playlists on local radio. (Still do, but fellow
Baltimorons will know that is a very cynical comment.)

I would assume so - the lines about being offered a beer and stepping in moosie
poop would probably have been considered way out of line for Radio Aahs. :>

Random thought #1: Credits to the late great Radio Aahs for playing WEIRD AL on
a semi-regular basis. Spam, Eat It, Lasagna, Yoda, and Don't Go Making Phony
Calls [?] were frequent choices.

Random thought #2: I once called Radio Aahs to see if they had that wonderfully
silly old "Tennesse Bird Walk," but alas, they didn't. <sigh> Didn't have the
song, didn't even have a clue. Consider this another request for the Doctor.

Random thought #3: Radio Aahs used to play a lot of material that would have
worked well on the Dr. Demento Show. I mentioned Joe Scruggs' "Bahamas
Pajamas" and Scott Lanningham's "Monkey Motel"; another good one was Raffi's
"Bananaphone." If I rack my brains for a few hours, I'll probably come up with
some more.

Yeah, Whimsical used it in a Demented News, where one of the cockatoos says
"That song must have been written by a bird brain"
