So, back from 1985-1987, when I was in middle school, my friends and I
were insane for Dr. Demento. I fondly recall staying up late, ear
pressed to the pillow with a little radio hidden beneath it, to catch
the latest dose of subversive insanity. Many of these songs have
played constantly in my mental soundtrack for the better part of 20
years (anyone poisoned any pigeons in the park lately?) and there's
one which I'd give anything to hear again. Alas, I cannot for the life
of me find its title or lyrics, despite hours of searching, and I hope
that someone can help.

Some lyrics I remember are:

You can say what you wanna say about my woman..
You might not like the way she stretches out her stretchy pants until
the ligaments go *POP*
But she sure can make Good Pork Sausage

Pork Sausage It's a Real Treat
Morning, noon, or after Three
Pork Sausage It's a Real Treat
'Hain't nothing better that I like to eat..

And this is sung, country style, by a baritone voice with a moderate
twang

Can anyone help? I and my wife, who is the recipient of this love song
whenever she makes sausage, would much appreciate your help.

Cheers,

Matt

I can't place this either. Do you recall if you heard it just once or
more than once? Do you have any recollection of any songs you heard
the same night, or what season of the year it was when you heard it?
I know it's a long shot to remember details like that from 25 years
ago, but you may have another memory connected with this one, like
talking about it in school the next day in a particular class for
instance, that could help narrow down the time period.

Also, what station were you listening on? Was it KMET or KLSX in Los
Angeles, or were you in another part of the country? I ask because
the Los Angeles show had different songs at this time.

Sounds to me like "Pork Sausage" by Dash Ampersand

Dash Ampersand is the country/western alter ego of comedy musician
Heywood Banks (whose real name is Stuart Mitchell). "Pork Sausage"
can be found on the 1993 CD, "Lollapaloozers", by Bob and Tom from The
Bob and Tom Show. I don't believe Dr. Demento has ever played the
song. Bob and Tom's CDs are usually a little pricey, although I think
the money goes to charity. "Lollapaloozers" is out of print, but I
recall seeing almost all of the albums at one time or another showing
up on eBay (for even more money). Their website also has a special
"VIP" section that requires payment. You might be able to get the
song through that as well. bobandtom.com

It's not on any of Heywood Bank's albums.

Good luck.
