generation of Americans to use the drug LSD so they could "turn on,
tune in and drop out," died of cancer.

In 1962, "Tell It To Groucho", TV Game Show; last aired on CBS. Tell it
to Groucho that you're cancelled and one of his ducks will drop
something on the network programmer, and it won't be a hundred dollar
bill.
In 1975, on the cover of TV Guide: "cast of The Bob Newhart Show". Other

In 1990, "Seinfeld", TV Comedy, starring Jerry Seinfeld, premieres as a
summer series on NBC as "The Seinfeld Chronicles". It was seen as a
pilot the previous July and returned as a series in January 1991.
After this show premiered, sitcoms never were the same. Jerry
Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Michael Richards and Julia Louis-Dreyfus
star. The sitcom ended its run in May 1998 -- leaving us with such
catch phrases as "no soup for you," "yadda yadda yadda" and "master
of your own domain." On tonight's show, George and whats-his-name
stakeout the lobby of a woman they met at a birthday party. Thus is
born the imaginary import/export firm of "Vandelay Industries."

remote island on CBS. In reality, it was taped months ago! Sixteen

South China Sea for thirty-nine days. Former Backchat on fX host Jeff
Probst goes from some 300 households in 1994 to over 30 million on
CBS in 2000. Ryan Hopak, a former writer for the show, recorded a
novelty song inspired by the show in 2003 called "Tribal Council".

In 1980, R.C., "Love Stinks" by J. Geils Band peaked at #38 on the pop
singles chart.
In 1982, "Eye Of The Tiger" single by Survivor was released. It was a
coincidence that the TV show by the band's name premiered on CBS 18
years later, and they did not appreciate it one bit. "Weird Al"
parodied it into "Rye or the Kaiser."
