Well, of course there is:
_Yes, We Have No Bananas_
There is also the song by Harry Belafonte _Day O_
"A beautiful bunch, a ripe banana"
There is an old camp song called "I like Bananas, Coconuts, and Grapes
I like bananas, coconuts and grapes
I like bananas, coconuts and grapes
I like bananas, coconuts and grapes
That's why they call me Tarzan of the apes.
(Hey, I didn't say it was a good song!)
If I think of anymore, I'll post 'em as well.

How about "I like bananas because they ahve no bones" by The Hoosier Hot
Shots! It's on "Dr. Demento's Greatest Novelty Records Of All Time: the
1940's".
A Bunch of Bananas--Rosemary Clooney

Freberg

I'm Chiquita Banan--Xavier Cugat, etc.
Chiquita Bacana- -Bando da Lua
I've Got the "Yes, We've Got No Bananas" Blues- -Irving Kaufman, Eddie Cantor,

Talking Green Beret New Super Yellow Hydraulic Banana Blues --Jaime Brockett

That's about all I can come up with for now. -Jack Mingo
-The Banana Splits Theme Song ("One banana, two banana, three banana, four...)
-When Banana Skins are Falling I'll Come Sliding Back to You- - I forgot who
did this. Maybe Ziggy Talent?
-Everybody Eats When They Come to My House- -Fats Waller (contains the line,
"Have a banana, Anna!")
Also, in the "I am an Apeman" mode, how about simian songs? Most probably bring
in a banana reference somewhere in the lyric (although I can't guarantee it
since I'm not about to teear apart my collection and listen to these things
just to make computer conversation):
-All by Myself With No Ape- -Alan Seidler

You are correct. The Chipmunks sang "Japanese Banana'. This is off the
Liberty album "Around the World with the Chipmunks". I have most (if
not all) of the Chipmunk albums from the 60's as I enjoyed them when I
was young. I wonder if these albums are worth anything?

Only if they're not trashed...as I'd imagine most Chipmunks LP's to be by
this time...my copy of "The Alvin Show", picked up at a junk shop, is one
of the most trashed in my collection...Chipmunk LP's that are WORTH (again,
in good shape) are the pre-TV show LP's..."Let's All Sing With The
Chipmunks" and "Chipmunk Songbook" (and I think "Sing Again with...) came
out before the show, and have drawings of "real" (i.e. not cartoony)
chipmunks, and real photos of David Seville interacting with them (some of
these cover designs were reproduced in cartoon form for post-Alvin Show
reissues of the early LP's.) These early LP's are on the green Liberty
label. Also worth quite a bit is Seville's "Witch Doctor" LP (I've seen it
for $80)...one I wish I had picked up at the time was one from the late
60's called "The Mixed-Up World of Bagdasarian" (Seville's real name: Ross
Bagdasarian), cover has him in an overcoat walking towards the camera...no
idea what the music's like.
There was also a reissue of "THe Chipmunk Song" 45 in a picture sleeve
featuring the pre-TV Chipmunks...and Alvin is the one looking hesitant as
Simon and Theodore rip open the presents....I think this is worth a bit
too...

Didn't Harry Chapin do a song called 1000 kilos of bannanas, about

Any idea whether its possible to buy any records by this artist, Tim
Cavanaugh(sp?)? I've got copies off the radio, but they're starting to decay,
and I would be bereft without 99 Dead Baboons and I Wanna Kiss her But...
