The movie is Johnny Dangerously. It was released in the fall of '83
if I remember correctly. Al did the opening theme, "This Is The
Life." I remember it from when I saw the movie at the theater when it
first came out. Recently I rented a copy and it appears (and sounds)
like the Al theme had been *completely* removed from the home video
version of the film. Bummer. Great movie though! Demented people
will really like it!

ps: I was wondering if I'd really heard This Is The Life the first time
I saw the movie so I played back an old Dr.D. show and sure enough
Al was on plugging the song from the then upcoming movie...

I pirated the movie off The Movie Channel many years ago, and it had the
full song for its theme during the end credits. Al, indeed, was not in the
movie. He only recorded the theme for it. I was completely delighted when
I saw Weird Al's video of it. I love that song! The movie's great too,
even though Al's not in it.
