I started a thread in alt.halloween.boo (Subject: Country music) about
what country songs would be good for a Halloween party. There seems to
be a shortage of appropriate music in this genre. "The dark elf"
suggested I check the country groups and see what the true experts
think.
Soooo? What do y'all think? Preferably something with spooky sounding
music since people at a party don't usually listen close to the
lyrics.
Here's what I have so far...
Alabama - Louisiana Moon
Alan Jackson - Midnight in Montgomery
Buck Owens - Monsters' Holiday
Charlie Daniels - The Devil Went Down to Georgia
Charlie Daniels - Legend of Wooley Swamp
Chris LeDoux - Caballo Diablo (Devil Horse)
David Allan Coe - The Ride
George Jones - He Stopped Loving Her Today
Hank Williams III - Devil's Daughter
Joe Diffie - If The Devil Danced (in Empty Pockets)
Johnny Cash - Ghost Riders in the Sky
Johnny Cash - The Beast in Me
Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around (Dawn of the Dead 2k4)
Pat Green - If I Was the Devil
Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton - Jeannie's Afraid of the Dark
Sammy Kershaw - Haunted Heart
Shelby Lynne - Evil Man
Shenandoah - Ghost in this House
Also "Lonesome Valley" & "O Death" from the "O Brother, Where Art
Thou?" soundtrack though I think those might be a little too blues-y
to be considered country.
When, and if I get a decent collection I'll post it to alt.binaries.
holiday. I can also send it to the country binary groups if someone
requests it.
Let the ideas flow....
