There was a young female star that I remember seeing on CMT or TNN a few
years ago. She had blonde hair and sang a song that had the line "who's
she to you and darlin' who am I" or something like that. I remember
liking that song and thinking how beautiful she looked in that video.
Anyway,I heard that she was killed in a car accident not long after that
song was released. Does anybody know what her name was? And if you have
any info on her, please include that as well.

Thanks,
Kevin

Let me clarify one thing. I heard about this singers death on Crook And
Chase. But I only saw the last part of it and I don't remember her name.
I recognized her from the video clip they were showing of her. That's
the reason I know about her death but don't know what her name is.

Her name was Amie Comeaux.....
She had an album called "Moving Out" on Polydor Records in 1994. Her single was
called "Who's She to You" and it did get quite a bit of airplay on CMT. I
believe she was only 18 years old. I think the world was robbed of a
wonderfully talented young singer.
My entire family fell in love with her immediately, and we bought my dad her
CD for Christmas. We didn't know what had happened to her or why we never heard
anymore music from her....unil i heard about her death (several years after it
happened).

Hoep this helped you out.... i've got some wav files of her song. if you'd
like, i will send them to you

You're most probably talking about Amie Comeaux. She's from the Southern part
of Louisiana, I believe. I didn't hear that she was a star but did hear that
she was up and coming. She even put out a Christmas album.

Chris...I have Amie's last album, "A Very Special Angel", which was released
on Rival Records after her death. I didn't realize that she had also
recorded a
Christmas album! I'd love to have it. If you know the name of it, please
post it. Thanks!

But it hasn't *been* several years. Amy died while driving home from singing
Christmas carols at a convalescent home last year. I believe she was 21.

The most info you'll find about Amie Comeaux is on a great friend of
mine's site at:
http://data.gc.peachnet.edu/stu_home/dmar1171/amie.htm

It's currently the only Amie site we know about, and it should have any
and all info you're looking for, like Amie's bio, the lyrics to the songs
from both of her CDs (and where and how to get them), as well as articles
and photos sent to my friend from members of Amie's family.

It's been just over a year now since she left us all.

Amie was ,as Linda says 21,
at the time of her death.
Amie was killed on the afternoon of December 21 1997.
Amie was driving westbound on Interstate 12 near Lacombe, St Tammany
Parish, when during a storm her car skidded off the road and hit a tree.
At the time Amie was returning, as Linda said, from a carols carolling
afternoon. Her grandmother Ida Wattigney,71 and a four year old family
friend Meagan Blanchard, were injured in the crash. Amie died almost
instantly at the crash scene.

December 21 (1993) is also the day that my dear friend and great country
banjo player Harold Morrison died. (You'll find some of his old records
on Epic)

Sorry, I'm only catching up with this post now...

AFAIK, Amie never released a Christmas album. There was her original release
("Moving Out") and her posthumous release ("A Very Special Angel").

Amie is my family. Her first CD came out when she was 17. She passed in a car accident at the age of 21 in 1997. She had just returned from Nashville after recording 19 songs for her new album. Nannie Carmen (my aunt) took some of those songs and finshedjer album a very special angel. There is another album of the remaining songs but was not released to public. Thanks Tanya
