A concert played "in the round" is one where the audience completely
encircles the performance stage. I saw a couple of bands in my teenage
years play in the round, and thought they were both fantastic, but that
was because I enjoyed watching the whole bands (one even used a revolving
stage). With Reba, it'll be different, because most people will be coming
to watch her on stage--not her band. I'm going to think positive about
it, though, because they might find some really creative things to do with
that set-up, given that Reba does more on stage than just play and
sing--no discredit to the performers who don't do shows like hers (I'm
seeing George Strait this year at Frontier Days and *really* looking
forward to it).
When it starts up, somebody please post their impressions of the show.

Many years ago, I saw Kenny Rogers "in the round" at the Capital Center
near Washington DC. Sawyer Brown was the openeing act, with The Oak Ridge
Boys replacin Dolly Parton, because she was ill. In this particular
venue, in the round meant a round stage in the middle of the arena,
instead of a stage at one end. The round stage revolved, so everyone had
a face on view of Kenny and everybody else throughout the concert.
Hope this helps....

I believe the original post is referring to a concert which has a
round stage in stead of a frontal view stage. The stage does not
have the big back drop like the frontal view stage. People can sit
all around the stage, which allows more seats to be sold. If you
have seen a Garth show, this is the type of stage he uses. He
moves around the whole stage so that everyone sees a lot of him.
This allows for the people in the "back" of the stage to have good
seats also; Hopefully Reba will do the same, if this is true about
her going to a round stage.

I too heard that her stage would be in the round this year, I talk to one
of the girls that works in the fanclub and she said a couple of shows, the
dates would be pushed back because the stage would not be finished in
time. She also told me that the first part of the tour 4-runner and Billy
Dean would be opening for Reba, If ya'll have any additional enfo. please
let me know.. Also if you or anyone you know has any Reba memorabilia,
pictures, collectables, etc.I'm always looking for new stuff to add to my
collection, I will buy or trade...

Reba's new show will be done partly "in the round". Here's what I mean.
The new show still has the huge frontal view stage with all the fancy
lighting, backdrops, etc, but what Reba has done is....there will be a
walkway for her which leads to the center of the auditorium and she will
sing on that "round" stage too, and go from one stage to the other. So,
to improve the show, instead of the "2" huge screens that are on either
side of the front view stage, they have added "6" of them so everyone can
see EVERYTHING! Wow huh!
The reason its taking so long is because the stage was not completed in
time and they had to work the bugs out of the lighting system. And now,
she will be in Florida for all the month of February to practice and
rehearse. So there you go. Hope that clears everything up. I have the new
tour schedule into May, but I'll post it in a few days.
