My 3-and-1/2-year-old nephew has starting worshipping George STrait. WHich
is fine, there are worse people he could try to emulate. He watches Pure
Country over and over and will now ONLY wear his blue jeans and cowboy
boots and will not wear shorts anymore outside playing. It's over a
hundred degrees here and the kid is going to pass out and have a heat
stroke, I'm sure of it. If I was his parent I'd just put his jeans away
so that he couldn't change as soon as he was left alone for five minutes.
But I'm not. He has a fit if he has to wear anything other than jeans b/c
he insists that George Strait only wears jeans.

So I was thinking if I could find a picture of George Strait in shorts, it
would solve the problem. We've told him that George wears shorts when he's
outside playing, despite what he sees on Pure Country. But he does not
believe us. Does anyone know of a photo of George in shorts?

I don't have any children, but I would think if anyone lets a 3 and 1/2 year
old manipulate them like this, the problem goes a lot deeper than shorts.

I had a link on my old computer - just tried searching for the link
again. Can't find it, but I think it was in straitconnection. That web
site is down right now though. Hopefully another George Strait fan will
have the picture for you.

One that could of had it .. would of been Mary's site.. Purecountry... but
she took hers down also.... I will keep my eyes and ears open.. I may know
of some others.. I am getting ready to surf and I know of one GS fan that
keeps up with all of that ..she may even have a copy of that pic.. she keeps
everything on George... so, I will also email her....
Good luck.. I had been through that wonderful age 3 times and I remember
those days.... it too will pass..

Why not just find a picture of a guy in shorts and paste George's head
on the picture. :-)

LOL!

If you look carefully at this NG, you'll notice that the shortest posts
are by folks who actually make their livings as writers. Why? Because we
don't write anything over 100 words unless we're being *paid* for it. ;-)

HUGE fan ... been seeing him since 78.... life is great, with George in it..
:)) I am leaving in the morning for my first Kingsville experience with
George.... can't wait !!!!!!! I hear its a lot of fun and I am planning on
having it.... I will be a run away mom and wife this weekend !!!

Haven't fiqured out what I am more excited about ... seeing George or just
having a quiet weekend... without kids fussing/fighting/begging and with out
hubby giving me *strange* looks... (lately the looks have been really
*strange*) :))

But, then again.. I have been walking around this house for several days
with a smile from ear to ear... he is probly trying to fiqure out whom put
it there... LOL !!!!!! (actually he knows .... Aaron Tippin did.. and he
knows George is going to enhance it ...LOL )

OH MY GOD! You are so Lucky! We will expect a full report from Kingsville
the minute you get back!!! Here's one for you: How did George get that scar
on his chin???

Not sure... never could get a STRAIT answer on that from anyone close to him
... We have heard.... 1) Got It In A Fight 2) Got it from a riding accident
3) Got it from getting to close to a golf club...
and he even said in an interview "Hazel, bit him .. LOL" ... Hazel is a
reporter and he was at an award show when that was said...
So, your guess is as good as mine.. I know people that know him and I will
be seeing one tomorrow, when I arrive in Kingsville... She needs my extra
tickets... So, I will ask her ... and see if she can find out when she talks
to him this weekend.

The fact that you don't have any children, and obviously haven't spent much
time around them, is quite apparent here. You have no clue just how
manipulative children can really be... not that they are trying to be evil
about it, just that it is their natural way of "testing the waters."

I am not one to tell someone how to raise their child, and neither are you.

How did george get the scar on his.chin? He looks adorable and tuff with it.
I know it must have hurt. Probably playing around when he was a child or steer roping
I would have loved to kiss it and make it better! Ha!.ha! I tell it like is! Thank you, d. Brock
