JUNE: They'll laugh at you in Jackson (I doubt it)
And I'll be dancin' on a pony keg
They'll lead you 'round that town like a scalded hound
With your tail tucked between your legs
Yeah, yeah, yeah, go to Jackson, you big-talkin' man
And I'll be waitin' there in Jackson behind my *Japan* fan
Can any of you fine folk help me?
All right, Floyd--if you say so. Just wish I could figger out what the
heck that is. I apppreciate the help.
Nope, I think it's "Ja-pan fan." There was a vogue for things Japanese
early in the century, and it even filtered down to the small-town South.
Another manifestation:
Frankie drew back her kimono,
Pulled out her old 44.
("Frankie and Johnny")
Just a theory . . . But the Japanese fashion craze was real, and was
satirized by Gilbert and Sullivan with the line "I don't long for all one
sees/That's Japanese."

Floyd replied :
>Yes I can. The words are Jay-pan plan.
'behind my Jay-pan plan ' ?

understand, and that is what I always hear, but what does jaypan plan
mean?
