Dear Shane,
I recently received your letter and I thank you for writing the Fan
Club. We appreciate your comments. I would like to apologize for
the "no autograph" rule on this particular evening. I was not
present at this particular show, but I do know that there was
probably a reason for Faith not signing autographs. Often she is
scheduled for an interview, etc. in between her performance and the
duet with Tim McGraw. I would be happy to have Faith sign something
for you if you would like to send it in to the Fan Club along with a
self-addressed stamped envelope. It will be returned as soon as
possible. Again, thank you for the letter. Take care.
Signed, Mandy KenKnight (Fan Club President)
I was not pleased with the response because she didn't address the
issue I was really upset about, the cameras. I also have had a lot of
feedback about Faith not signing autographs at any of her shows. I
know a lot of you have seen the show this year, and if you have, would
you please write me telling me where and if she signed autographs.
Also, please send a date of the show if at all possible.

I can understand your frustration because I've had some similar
experiences. I don't know if it's true in all cases, but my experience
has been that the "no cameras" rule is set by the venue rather than the
artist, in most cases. I think it may be because of their concert
security. (i.e. they don't want fans going up to the stage, or something.)
I remember one concert where the restrictions were kind of unusual. They
made an announcement before the concert that photos would be allowed
during the first three songs only. In that case, I kind of suspected
that the artist may have requested that because camera flashes can be
disruptive of the performer's concentration.
I too have experienced cameras not being allowed at the concert, only to
meet the artist and find out pictures were allowed -- but I didn't have my
camera because I'd been made to leave it in the car. In fact, I am
personally boycotting (at least, partially) the L.B.Day Ampitheater in
Salem, Oregon, because of it's extreme rules and high-priced but poor
quality seating.

I saw Faith and Tim on March 30-96 and the shows were great if not too
loud, it was the only one I have had to use ear plugs.
I saw them at the Stabler Arena in Bethlehem Pa.
They had no problems with cameras and just ask that there would be no
flashes.
Almost with some exception the camera policy is part of the entertainers
contract. I have gotten cameras in, in some of the strictest places
because the artist wanted it.
As far as the backstage meet and greet there were no autographs only
pictures there excuse was that there was not enough time between shows
and I did miss some of Tim's show. There was no duet that night so
this was my experience any questions please write.

That's a lame excuse. What if I don't want a photo with her? It would
take just as long to write the words "Faith Hill" as it would to pose,
smile, and click. Surely they can come up with a better fake reason than
that.
Cameras were definately allowed when I saw her. I shot 7 rolls of film
during the show, flashes and all. The camera policy depends on the arena
the artist is playing in. I walked in with my camera around my neck, so I
didn't have to "sneak it in".
