Half of Martina's songs. Seriously, God's Will and Concrete Angel by
Martina would apply.

Who does the 'Dear Mr. Jesus' song they like to play around Christmas? Then
there's the one about the boy buying shoes for his dying mother so she can
meet Jesus.

Both of them terribly sappy.

Poignant, but not sad.
Powerful song, though.

I don't see how "Love Without End, Amen" by George STRAIT is a sad
song.

There was a recent single by a female singer in the top 20 earlier
this year about a woman praying to God asking him not to take her sick
daughter to heaven, but I forget who sang it.

How about Conway's "That's My Job"?

That was Sherie Austin's "Street's of Heaven".

Hello? That's Billy Dean. Not even close, sonically or name-wise.

> Gary Allen - Tough little boys

Allan, A-L-L-A-N. And this song oozes sap like a Vermont maple.

> Trace Adkins- Then they do

Low point in his career.

Strait, S-T-R-A-I-T.

Okay song.

Sappy as all-get-out.

> Martina McBride - Concrete Angel

I feel the sadness, but I don't really understand the lyrics.

> Lonestar - I'm Already There

Pretty dang sappy too.

> Trace Adkins - I'm Tryin

Pretty darn good song.

Compelling, but how is it a sad song?

Along these lines, I would opt for
"Sowin' Love" by Paul Overstreet. Even though it's granparents...

or how about "Keep It Between The Lines" by RVS?

Again, not sad, but compelling.

Ricky and Paul are two of my favorite CCM artists, too. :-)
