Cats and women will do as they please....
dogs and men should relax and get used to it.

Dogs come when called...cats have an unlisted number.

Billy Ray Cyrus did Achy Breaky Heart. It was written by Don Von Tress. The
song was peddled around Nashville for quite some time before BRC picked it up.
It was even offered to the Oak Ridge Boys at one point. Don Von is currently a
memeber of Billys band, and has a cd of his own out entitled Ghost Dance.

Today Achy Breaky Heart is a blessing and a curse. It brought a wonderful man
into the spotlight, but it also has given him an obstacel to overcome.

Check out his new album, Shot Full of Love. It is much diferent than ABH.

Del Reeves also cut Achy Breaky Heart its cool he does impressions of Roy
Acuff, Walter Browning, James Stuart, and Little Jimmy Dickens singing it. He
did it live on the Grand Ole Opry. If u want to obtain a copy of this you can
order it at your favorite record store. Its Called Del Reeves 25 Silver
Anniversery album. It also features two other brand new songs. "Rockin Rooster
Inn" and "Im Really Gone". the album was done on the playback records label in
1992

Did he record it before or after his daughter had that affair with Billy
Ray while he was still married to his first wife?

And the rest of us have "know idea" what you're talking about if you
don't quote at least part of the post to which you're replying. This
thread has grown too long for guessing.

Ronnie Milsap recorded this song several years age and used the title
"Don't break my heart" but it did not do much on the charts for him and
very few even knew he recorded it.

I have seen 3 or 4 that had it before whats his name.. Well ya'll know
whoom I am talking about
I heard ... Steve from the Oak Ridge Boys talk about them recording it
.when it was "Don't Tell Your Heart" ....

Are you SURE Milsap recorded Don Von Tress' "Don't Tell My Heart"???

I have serious doubts about this. Check the songwriting credits.

sometimes there are songs out there with the same TITLE, but different songs by
different writers.

Here's what I found online:

Marcy Brothers

Don't Tell My Heart (A.k.a. "Achy Breaky Heart")

You can tell the world
You never was my girl
And you can burn my clothes up when I'm gone
Or you can tell your friends
Just what a fool I've been
And laugh and joke about me on the phone
You can tell my arms
"Go back to the farm"
You can tell my feet to hit the floor
Or you can tell my lips
To tell my fingertips
They won't be reaching out for you no more

But don't tell my heart
My achy breakin'* heart
I just don't think he'd understand
And if you tell my heart
My achy breakin'* heart
He might blow up and kill this man

You can tell your ma
I moved to Arkansas
You can tell your dog to bite my leg
Or tell your brother Cliff
Whose fist can tell my lip
He never really liked me anyway
Or tell your Aunt Louise
Tell anything you please
Myself already knows I'm not okay
Or you can tell my eyes
To watch out for my mind
It might be walking out on me today

(Don Von Tress; Millhouse Music (BMI), Shedd House Music (ASCAP))
*Note that Billy Ray Cyrus sings "breaky" here.

I think Cyrus sang the lines as originally written, but people were coming up
to him and asking him to "sing that achy breaky song" so he changed that word
and somewhere around that time the title of the song got changed. Von Tress is
still in Cyrus' band.
