Of course NOT! Dwight Hoakam has NEVER written a song that ANYONE would ever
remember! :) (Except maybe, Dwight! ) :)

Finally, Dwight Hoakam is only famous, for being the subject of a Sharon Stone
quote! Sorry, it's the truth! The famous quote is that Dwight was " nothing
more than a dirt sandwich"! The sad part was, that the actual quote was "SHIT"
sandwich, and as history has proven, Sharon is one of the most most accurate
reviewers, in the history of Country Music! :) Not only does Dwight SUCK
big-time, the really sad part, is that EVEN Sharon Stone knows it!!!:)

You're a moron. Dwight had already sold millions of records and won several
awards when he hooked up with Sharon Stone. Funny, it's Dwight that's starring
in the #1 movie at the box office for two weeks running. When's the last time
Stone could claim that? Sliver? LOL.

I seem to recall the Stone quote was this:

"even a dirt sandwich is better than Dwight Yoakam..."

Now maybe the original quote was "shit sandwich" and it got cleaned up along
the way but I hadn't heard about that... but I suppose that would make it even
funnier...."

"But someday I'm sure you're gonna know the cost..... that for everything you
win there's something lost." - Bob McDill and Dan Seals.

"Murder's been committed down on Music Row." - Larry CORDLE & Larry SHELL.

>You're a moron. <

I'm a moron? You publically admit that you're a fan of Dwight Yoakam, and you
think I'm moron? Look in the mirror, honey! :) That is if you can find one big
enough! :)
If you're a fan of that lightweight, there's got to a serious weight issue
going on. You've probably got more hair on your armpits, than Dwight's got on
his head! :) Last time I looked, 140 lb ugly geeks, weren't exactly
"happening". :) Denial is a terrible thing! :)

>Funny, it's Dwight that's starring

What's "funny" is that you would include Dwight and the word "starring" in the
same sentence! :) Let's be honest. Dwight Yoakam makes Frankenstein, look like
Tom Cruise!! :) Let's see if I can break this to you gently, honey. Dwight
Yoakam will never be "STARRING" in this or any other movie, he ever appears
in!!!!!!!!:):):) Re-read this a few times, in the hope that it will eventually
sink in!!!! :):) Dwight Yoakam will only be a "character" actor, if he lives to
be 150 years old, because he is just that plain butt ugly!!!! He's so
repulsive, physically, he makes my ass look good!!! :)

Finally, interesting don't you think, that you would try to make him out to be
Robert DiNiro, instead of Hank Williams. :) How many "top tens" has DiNiro had?
This is a MUSIC NG, and not a "250 lb women's fantasy" NG! :)

Dwight Yoakam has more artistic credibility than almost any veteran in the
industry. Anybody with even the slightest understanding of country music and
its history would be aware of this. You sound like somebody who brags about
having a 5-yr subscription to Country Song Roundup.

>Look in the mirror, honey! :) That is if you can find one big
>enough! :)

Now, I've been to many Dwight Yoakam concerts. And fat women are not his core
audience. Not that I'm fat, or a woman. But you've gotten everything else
wrong, so why would I expect accuracy on this?

>You've probably got more hair on your armpits, than Dwight's got on
>his head! :)

Probably so, actually. Sounds like it's his looks that keep you from being a
fan. I guess that's how you make your musical judgments. You must think the
boys in Little Texas were the second coming of the Beatles. I mean, look at
all that hair!!

>Last time I looked, 140 lb ugly geeks, weren't exactly
>"happening". :)

Then why does Kenny Chesney keep selling platinum?

>What's "funny" is that you would include Dwight and the word "starring" in
>the
>same sentence! :)

He's above the title in the credits. That makes it a starring role.

>Dwight Yoakam will only be a "character" actor, if he lives to

Funny, I said he's musically very talented, and you argue as if I had said he
was attractive. You're as ignorant as you are shallow.

>Finally, interesting don't you think, that you would try to make him out to
>be
>Robert DiNiro, instead of Hank Williams. :)

Actually, I was responding to the Sharon Stone comment you had made, which made
her sound like she was some big movie star. I find it funny that Yoakam is
scoring bigger roles than her. And acting is his SIDE job.

> This is a MUSIC NG, and not a "250 lb women's fantasy" NG! :)

And you haven't mentioned his MUSIC once. LOL.

I wonder if Nashville and fellow artists' views of Yoakam have mellowed
over the years.

I'm sure they have. He received most of the Nashville flack in the mid-80's,
while there was this strange Steve Earle rivalry with Dwight going on. I'm
sure he has the respect of his fellow artists. He's worked with enough of
them.

Now even YOU have to admit, THIS IS FUNNY! Someone with absolutely NO artistic
credibility, and in fact proved it by letting us all "KNOW" that in your
opinion, Pam Tillis was more influential/popular/well known, than her father,
Mel Tillis! Thanks for the entertainment! :)

>Anybody with even the slightest understanding of country music and
>its history would be aware of this.<

This is if possible, even FUNNIER! Thanks, again. We've all been treated to
your understanding of country music and it's history.

> fat women are not his core audience. <

Sorry, untrue. I've been there and I've posted about it. Go to google.

>Not that I'm fat, or a woman. <

What would you call it, then? Pleasingly plump and female? Trust me honey,
you're not fooling ANYBODY! ANYONE who professes adoration for Pam Tillis and
Dwight Yoakam, is seriously lacking in testosterone, and has absolutely NOTHING
between her legs! :)

>You're as ignorant as you are shallow.<

You're the one who likes the "toy" boy. You figure it out! :) Let me guess, you
like Hal Ketchum and Kevin Welch , too? :) Denial is a terrible thing! :)

> And acting is his SIDE job.<

Not anymore, honey. The people have spoken, and unlike you, they don't like
what they've heard. :) He has no recording contract, which means that music is
his side job! :)

>And you haven't mentioned his MUSIC once. <

I agree! Thank the Lord! :) OOps! Sorry, you meant this as a complaint, didn't
you? Seriously, when did ANYONE ever mention Dwight's MUSIC? What's your point,
that it is even worth mentioning? What do you want me to tell you, that today I
was visiting the local hospice, and almost everyone said, "Ya know, sonny, if I
could just hear that Dwight Yoakam cover of Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe",
before I die, I'd be a happy camper! " :) Air (ear) pollution comes in many
forms, but none more toxic than Mr Hoakam's efforts! PLEASE!!! Go back to your
knitting! :)

What kind of wasp crawled up you ass and stung you?

Buddy, I CHALLENGE YOU to hear some real Dwight - not just the crap
aired on radio / CMT.

I want you to buy a copy of Flaco Jimenez - Partners CD, and listen
to track 3. That will shut your mouth!

Well, it's true. Remember (use Google) I countered with my opinion
that Pam was not as good as her daddy, at least NOT YET.

But that has nothing to do with being more influential/popular/well
known than Mel - DOES it?

Listen, nitwit, I happen to like Sonny and Cher, not to mention
Donny and Marie.

DO YOU HAVE A #^%&*#! PROBLEM WITH THAT!

Why don't YOU? You obviously have WAY too much time on your hands.

Dwight Yoakam and Sheryl Crow COVERING Sonny & Cher ("Baby Don't Go.") Now
that should've been a disaster, but it was brilliant in execution.

Hey... I just read this whole thread about Dwight... love him - hate him ping pong match.

I just wanted to agree with you that he is 'one of the best' song writers and performers ever. I've been a fan since the early 90's and have seen him a handful of times. I love his variety and his energy. Good ear my friend!!!
