From the lack of response to this thread, I guess nobody cares, but as
someone who knew the ORB in the '80s, I feel really bad hearing this.
Steve was a helluva nice guy and I wish somebody could have helped him.

I agree with you Linda. The Oaks dumped William Lee when they didn't
like what he represented then dumped Steve because he had personnal
problems. Then they did there usual and lied about why he left.

To make matters worse Joe gets on Prime Time Country and says he
doesn't remember why they had the fall out with Golden but now they
were back together and that's all that matters. To little to late.

No longer liked the Oaks after Steve left.

I totally agree that Steve was a nice guy. I saw the guys in person 3 times
when he was in the group. I was very upset to hear about him taking his own
life, though I know he had alot of personal problems. It is sad that no one
could have helped him.

I totally agree. I have always loved the Oaks and William Lee had always been
my all-time favorite when he was with them. After Steve replaced him, I was
amazed at how William Lee's leaving hadn't effected my love of them. After
Steve left and William Lee returned, things just didn't seem the same. In my
opinion, Willian Lee STILL DOESN'T fit the image of the old Oaks.

Their lack of support for either William Lee or Steve leaves me completely cold
to them now.

Another example of, "success or money can't necessarily make you
happy".
