Joe Galante and the Degrading Nature of Porn

The arguments about porn, pro and con, are anything but black and
white. There's many shades of gray. But one truth about porn that's
becoming clearer is how degrading it is to its objects, mostly women.

Nashville sheds light into how porn degrades women. What I'm about to
say has not been said, to my knowledge, by any other commentator
about porn. I'm not sure they understand it like I do.

Porn doesn't just degrade women in the action or moment. It mainly
degrades them by taking away their potential. So it's a permanent
kind of degradation, like what happens when a murderer is sentenced.

It's hard to fathom guys getting their jollies watching women do porn
and thinking "She's screwed for life." But it happens, at least
subliminally. Part of the pleasure is watching women be degraded
permanently, so they can never achieve their potential to work and
earn on par (or above) men.

The most fascinating and insightful case is Mindy's, because she was
a victim of child porn, probably unwilling and maybe coerced. In this
regard, she's like a victim who survived a bad car wreck. You can't
imagine that a woman entertainer would be blackballed years later,
viciously and permanently, because she was once in a bad car wreck.
Can you?

So this is how porn degrades. The people who make the porn degrade.
The people who watch the porn degrade further. And the people who
blackball a woman like Mindy for being a victim of porn also degrade
her, because they fulfill the promise that her potential would be
destroyed by her abuse.

In my opinion, the Nashville blackballers of Mindy are as guilty of
degrading her as are the child pornographers who originally degraded
her. It's one long unbroken chain of abuse.

That leads to Joe Galante, because he's a link in the chain, too.
Joe's job was to break the chain, to defend Mindy from all the porn
merchants and blackballers who have degraded her, past and present.
When Joe sat there wringing his hands, doing nothing, he became IMHO
yet another man degrading Mindy.

Joe Galante may feel guilty about the fact that he's done nothing to
break the chain of degradation Mindy has suffered. I hope so. He may
also feel liable, as a company and individual, for the loss and pain
Mindy suffered in having her entertainment career unjustly taken
away. He should. Joe's liability has two levels. One is the cost of
trying to keep his failure-to-act out of the public eye. The other is
the cost of any settlement or judgement that his company and he
personally may face, if it isn't kept out of the public eye.

If Joe Galante feels I'm hammering him unjustly, he can ask himself
one question. If all truth were known to a jury of his peers, could
he look them in the eye and honestly say he did THE RIGHT THING FOR
MINDY? The real answer is he can't. Because he did nothing to restore
her potential by confronting the continuing chain of her abuse.

Restoration is possible. I'm a big believer in the teachings of John
Bradshaw, who says we survivors should give back shame to those who
dumped it on us. In Mindy's case, giving back would include the
pornsters, blackballers, and passive abusers like Joe Galante.

I go beyond Bradshaw. I don't think it's always possible to give back
shame without also giving back LOSS and PAIN. We should not hesitate
to give back loss and pain, too, as individual survivors and as a
group that's tired of suffering silently and is ready to fight back.

I hope Mindy gives back her shame, loss and pain to those who dumped
it on her. If Joe Galante personally suffers major loss and pain as a
result, I won't shed a tear.

You are really getting better in what you do. I hadn't noticed the subtle
(read: like a sledge hammer) "improvements.

>The arguments about porn, pro and con, are anything but black
and>white. There's many shades of gray. But one truth about porn that's
>becoming clearer is how degrading it is to its objects, mostly women.

There are few, if any, arguements about porn ... black, white or any other
shade. Yes, it's degrading to all of those who choose to participate.

>Nashville sheds light into how porn degrades women. What I'm about to
>say has not been said, to my knowledge, by any other commentator
>about porn. I'm not sure they understand it like I do.

Nashville = pornography. If any major artist did ever appear in a porno
flick, of which there is no proof, Nashville would have helped them out of
that industry.

>Porn doesn't just degrade women in the action or moment. It mainly
>degrades them by taking away their potential. So it's a permanent
>kind of degradation, like what happens when a murderer is sentenced.

So a participant in pornography, the victim, is the same as a murderer
the criminal being sentenced. So porno victims are murders.

>It's hard to fathom guys getting their jollies watching women do porn
>and thinking "She's screwed for life." But it happens, at least
>subliminally. Part of the pleasure is watching women be degraded
>permanently, so they can never achieve their potential to work and

Ah, an interesting, introspective, psychological theory on the inner workings
of the minds of porno viewers ... or, just bullshit.

>The most fascinating and insightful case is Mindy's,

didn't happen

because she was
>a victim of child porn,

didn't happen

probably unwilling and maybe coerced. In this
>regard, she's like a victim who survived a bad car wreck. You can't

No you can't because the point you're trying to make with your half assed
analogy doesn't make any sense.

>So this is how porn degrades. The people who
make the porn degrade.>The people who watch the porn degrade further. And the
people who>blackball a woman like Mindy for being a victim of porn also degrade
>her, because they fulfill the promise that her potential would be
>destroyed by her abuse.

So, there is no chance that her career is floundering because she:

a) is more beautiful than talented?

b) copped a star attitude after one hit single?

c) took terrible career advise from the former Superman, whose career is also
similar to that bad car wreck to which you eluded?

d) any combo of the above?

>In my opinion, the Nashville blackballers of Mindy are as guilty of
>degrading her as are the child pornographers who originally degraded
>her. It's one long unbroken chain of abuse.

Here we see the weaving together of the individual lies you have incorporated
to give your ramblings some sort of authenticity. Like (I would guess) your
hero, Rush Limbaugh, you have established a tirade, based not on facts but
supermarket newspaper type hypotheses. Then after carefully introducing the
personalities you continue to build your straw house you can attack the
ficticious attackers ... never realizing that it has already crumbled under
its on weight of bullshit.

Your problem is that you're out on a limb by yourself without a couple of
million dittoheads.

>That leads to Joe Galante, because he's a link in the chain, too.

Joe Galante is a number cruncher. Mindy and others didn't meet their number.
It's pure sales, supply and demand and nothing more.

>Joe Galante may feel guilty about the fact that he's done nothing to
>break the chain of degradation Mindy has suffered.

Brilliant. You introduced Joe G., who has nothing to do with the corrupt
point you're trying to make, and now you theorize on HIS behalf.

I hope so. He may

>Mindy suffered in having her entertainment career unjustly taken

Again, very good. He has failed to act to correct a problem with which he is
not involved ... a problem which does not exist. excellent.

The other is
>the cost of any settlement or judgement that his company and he
>personally may face, if it isn't kept out of the public eye.

>If Joe Galante feels I'm hammering him unjustly,

Oh yeah, Joe lays awake nights thinking about this.

So, we reinstate Mindy's contract, buy her ten songs, cut her a new CD, put
some money behind it, and it sells 20,000 copies. Then what? It's the fault
of those wretched liner notes writers. They've conspired to thwart her
comeback by introducing subliminal mind altering messages

You should not believe Linda C. You should listen to what I'm telling you, because
it's important.

Joe Galante is trapped in an "old school" view of how BTOs should solve problems,
which is by buying time, denying, hiding, and trying to keep the artist on a legal
leash as long as possible. It's not totally Joe's fault, because he's doing what
he's told by his superiors in Germany. What the narrow-minded Germans can't see is
how the American public has shifted, in such a short time.

The idea of keeping Mindy on a leash is so she'll get cold, and then nobody will
want her story. But with each passing day, her story just becomes more right for the
times and valuable. The same with Suzy's story.

There's no doubt Mindy's story would be a huge jolt of inspiration to countless
survivors. She'd get airtime on "Dateline" for sure, because her story is more
riveting than the con they put on last night with Multiple Personalities. Mindy's
book would sell well, and so would her post-Nashville records. She'd go platinum
again. The outpouring of sympathy and support for her would be overwhelming, as it
would be for Suzy. You would see people doing meet-and-greets with Mindy with great
sobbing emotional outbursts. There's so many of us, and we're getting free of these
chains so fast, after so long. Our public champions are too few.

By keeping Mindy on a legal leash, Joe is just making her hate him and Bertlesmann
worst. She's like a tiger in a cage that you've eventually have to let go. Go ahead
and keep tormenting the tiger and banging on the cage. When she gets out, you'll be
breakfast. Joe should stop tormenting Mindy and let her go now. Let her tell her
multi-million dollar story and help millions of survivors improve their lives.

Doing this would probably get Joe fired. But he would end what has become horrible
personal relations with one of his artists. And Joe could have a clear conscience
and not become a villain for millions of survivors, like he probably will otherwise.

I didn't hear it from nobody. I developed it. I'm connected to the Internet
Free Speech Liberation Front. It's a huge number of people who hate BTOs and
are constantly prowling all corners of the Web, looking for ammo to bring
down BTOs.

Some people in the Front helped me find the pictures of Mindy, as well as
Suzy. For Mindy, there's not too many pictures and no movies that anybody
can find. But the pictures that exist are tragic, like I said in my poem.

For Suzy, there's many pictures and several movies that we've found,
including the cover-up movie.

Our goal isn't to make life tough for these women. We want to fight the BTOs
who are persecuting them. We want to encourage a billion dollars of lawsuits
brought by artists against the Nashville cartel that has denied them a
chance to earn a living through racketeering and restraint-of-trade.

Let's say a $100 million class action lawsuit was brought by a group of
current and former Nashville artists who felt they'd been blackballed. If
they won in court, they wouldn't get $100 million. They'd get $300 million
because of treble damages in civil antitrust and racketeering cases.

But somebody has to pry the door open and encourage those other artists to
file suit for money they lost and deserve to get back. In the Front, we
think the door-opener could be Mindy, just because she's such a natural-born
fighter. Suzy doesn't seem to have as much fight left as she once did. And
also, Suzy has a child and responsibilities there, where Mindy doesn't have
no child to protect and not much more to lose.

It's like one great survivor (KK) once wrote and another (JJ) once sang:
"Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose."

That's because it's only available on a home movie that's been running
through Ricky's head for the last two years - replacing the previous one
about Suzy Bogguss.

The truth is that Joe is doing the exact opposite. In fact, he's giving
her more work than her manager is giving her. Perhaps you should attack
her manager. But you don't know his/her name. And you don't own any of
Mindy's albums. So you can't find it.

Actually, his relations with her are quite good. In fact, I'd say he gets
along better with her than she gets along with her own mother. But that's
another story (one that you don't know).

I agree with you, Coop, the issue isn't about Joe Galante's mother.
It's about how well Joe Galante does his job for fans.

Most record-industry BTOs like Joe Galante don't think like that. To
them, fans are just the stupid suckers who buy their records.

But Joe Galante has a responsibility to record-buying fans, just like
he has a responsibility to the greedy Germans at Bertlesmann.

If you tied Joe Galante down and forced him to talk honest, he might
tell you he never bargained for fighting back against pornsters and
blackballers. He just wanted to be in the music biz and make records.

My point is that it goes beyond what biz you're in. It's like...are you
real? Are you human?

If you drove down the highway and saw somebody lying by the side of the
road, bleeding to death, would you stop and try to help? Some people
would say...No, not my job. Don't want to get involved. To me, they're
not real or human.

To me, if you see a young entertainer like Mindy being screwed royal,
you gotta stop and help. Joe thinks he helped. But he didn't.

He certainly didn't help Mindy's many fans, who still don't know what
the hell happened to her. Joe Galante screwed the fans. So now it's
time for fans to screw him.

So then you approve of "Stella's" lies about her, but you object to my bit
of truth? If you notice, I didn't actually say her relations with her
mother are bad. I just said that his relations with her are better.

The fans know. She told them. She doesn't keep secrets from her fans.
But since you're not a fan, you don't know what she said. So you continue
to weave your web of confusion. But the fans know the truth. And it's not

Mmm...I'm with Coop on this one. Cartel Boy comes across to me as
someone _desperate_ to fabricate anything that might sound somewhat
believable, in order to cover for the industry. There have just been too
many outright fabrications, often in arrogance. If it's fiction, I'd
rather read about alien abductions than meaningless copouts and boring
misinformation.

Cartel Boy just mirrors the mindset of the people he works for, the
cartel. It's important to understand the difference between me and him.
It explains why I've been so successful in my life, while he's a
failure.

The cartel believes in inertia, which is the continuation of current
trend. For many years, the trend in Nashville has been to paint facades
and then expect everybody to honor them. The underlying message to
everyone in the industry is...we'll make more money if everybody plays
the game. For many years that may have been true, and the inertia grew.

I don't believe in inertia, and distrust its validity. More important
to me is human nature and the inevitability of change.

The artists you see on Nashville's stage are playing in the big
leagues. It's serious stuff with millions of dollars and years of
sacrifice at stake. As tends to happen to facades, they start to tilt
and topple over time. In Nashville's case, they definitely tilted
against women. From "She Thinks He'll Keep Her" to today was one giant
topple against a whole generation of talented country women.

So you've had dozens, if not a hundred, women step on that big-league
stage in the past five years and be told to accept a screw job. With
big stakes on the line, the cartel wants these women to walk on and off
stage on cue. Your turn to be famous. Nope. Now yours.

Accepting that demeaning role just isn't human nature. Almost all
humans are natural-born fighters and injustice makes them more so. You
can't tell a talent like LeAnn Rimes to step off the stage, and push a
no-talent like JoDee Messina in her place, and expect the facade to
remain.

The facade just becomes too unbelievable. The effort that goes into
maintaining it becomes too costly and confrontational, and soon you've
got all-out war on your hands.

That's what Nashville has come to. They can only put people in front of
the facade that will bow down to it. Total money-grubbing dickheads
like Steve Wariner. But if you put Kinky Friedman on the air, expect
him to tear the facade down.

Now, in the cartel's last act, Nashville is full of talented, visible
people who want to tear the facade down and tell the world about the
robbery of country music, our music. And we will.

When did that happen? LeAnn Rimes is performing with Elton John, and

Kiddie porn includes exploitation of any person below majority age. You
should understand that there's a hot trade in photos and movies of
young women just below majority age, from 14 to 17.

If you buy my theory that part of the allure of porn is to participate
in the permanent degradation of a woman, through loss of her potential,
you start to understand this allure.

The idea is, as soon as a female becomes recognizable as a woman, you
destroy her potential forever. Therefore, sexual exploitation of these
young women is one of the most horrible forms of child abuse.

I used to think that the most horrible abuse took place at the youngest
ages. Now I see different.

The pornsters and blackballers are more vulnerable than you think. The
act of violation creates barriers in survivors, which act as defenses
against the horror. The experience also can create a more expressive
personality, as the survivor attempts to convince herself she's not
forever flawed. This is why so many survivors go on to do well on
stage, as singers, musicians or beauty pageant contestants.

When Mindy connected with a million record buyers on "Ten Thousand
Angels," a lot of her strength derived from her defenses and expressive
personality. As survivors band together, these same strengths will put
many pornsters, blackballers and BTOs in jail, where they belong.

That's a very simplistic approach. Many women who participate (willingly)
in porn don't see it that way. They in fact see it as very empowering.
They view their body as an asset. It's far more degrading to have an
anonymous person (like you) create fiction about country artists and
present it to the public as the truth. Through these stories, you continue
to degrade these women, and bring them down to your level.

I'm a survivor of child sex abuse of a severe nature. The shrinks say
three things that can make abuse severe.

* If the sex offender is a parent, particularly a pedophile.

* If the abuse is repetitive and manipulative from an early age,
continuing over years.

* If the abuse is violent, horrific, sadistic or ritualistic.

In my case, two of three apply. If all three apply, you're MPD.

Severe sex abuse has lasting impact. It becomes the color of your life,
whether you know it or not.

Most survivors bear the continued burden of guilt and shame, which
narrow-minded vindictive morons like Elmer Alley reinforce. That's why
it's hard for survivors to become good parents.

I didn't believe I could become a good parent until I confronted who I
was, the color of my life. As I've said, it was Suzy's music that
helped me do that.

If people know you're a survivor, they distrust you and think you're a
perv. It's well known that abused people are more likely to abuse
others, and this stigma is external, through the finger-pointing of
Elmer Alley nitwits, and also internalized as guilt. It's the "second
fuck" in the double-fucking of sex abuse survivors.

The only way we can undo the second fuck is to confront it, and we do
that in two ways. We can try to educate the Elmer Alleys of the world,
to the extent their pea brains allow. Or we can shove the shame they
try to lay on us straight back down their throats.

I believe in both.

One of the more poetic and honest abuse survivors in the music world is
Axl Rose, who wrote (educationally)...

"Don't damn me
When I speak a piece of my mind
'Cause silence isn't golden
When I'm holding it inside
'Cause I've been where I've been
An I've seen what I have seen
I put the pen to the paper
'Cause it's all a part of me"

Axl also wrote (shoving it back)...

"You wanna fuck with me, don't fuck with me
'Cause I'm what you'll be
So don't fuck with me
If you had better sense
You'd step aside
From the bad side of me
Don't fuck with the bad side of me"

Richard,

You have told the story of your sexual abuse as a child many times. I am
truly sorry that the tragedy occured. I certainly would not hold you
responsible or find you guilty in any way for the pain with which you must
cope.

The point I have tried to make to you, many times, is that your salvation
will not be found by constantly besmirching the names of others. You are
alleging things about their lives that are totally untrue and by doing this
you are misleading the new list members who do not know you as well as I.
You have admitted you have no factual knowledge to support any of your
allegations. You "hear" things in their songs that no one else hears.
You "see" scars on their faces in photographs that no one else can see.

You own pain distorts you perception of these performers. Your vision is
colored by your own situation. It may be therapeutic for you but when you
indulge these fantasies on the internet you do irreparable damage to the
very performers you say you want to help.

My previous post was designed only to get your attention. Think about it.
Cuss at me all you want but think about it.

I already told the answers, but you didn't listen.

Women tend to bottle abuse and turn it inward into guilt and
self-loathing.

Men tend to release it and turn it outward into rage and
self-destruction.

I think Axl by himself, and in some cases co-writing with
Izzy Stradlin, produced some of the finest modern musical
poetry about rageful men who are abusive to women. He gave
voice to these men, so they could confront who they are.

Most male survivors were abused by their fathers...sexually,
physically or emotionally. That's because one of the tenets
of patriarchy was the idea that a man has no boundaries
within his own house and family. Of course, we no longer
believe that's true. That pillar of patriachy has been
destroyed in one lifetime.

When you're small and weak, and your big powerful Dad is
abusing you, you think to yourself..."Why isn't Mom
protecting me? Mom? Dad's abusing me again. Make him stop.
Mom? Where are you, you bitch?"

This is how lots of abused men turn their rage against women.

In counselling these men, the idea is to help them redirect
their rage toward the real object, which is their fathers.
They need to go confront their elderly fathers and beat them
up bad.

It sounds like you and I know a hell of a lot more about Axl than
Ricky/Stella do. Since he's driven off the rest of GNR, I hope that
album he's been "working on" for the last several years never sees the
light of day and he sinks even farther into the obscurity he so richly deserves.

No, actually, you didn't. You call Axl an abuse survivor.. Well, trust me,
anyone who has actually survived abuse (not lived through it, but SURVIVED,
there's a difference) would not inflict abuse upon another person...

>Men tend to release it and turn it outward into rage and

Like I said, Stella, sounds like he may have lived through it, but he sure
ain't "survived it"...

Also, what abuse are we talking about here? Because, Axl's done a pretty damn
good job of abusing himself in life.

>I think Axl by himself, and in some cases co-writing with
>Izzy Stradlin, produced some of the finest modern musical

And pissed off many women, such as myself, by being a sexist, crude, vulgar
jackass... Yeah, an effective way to deal with one's feelings....

>abusing you, you think to yourself..."Why isn't Mom

So, instead of getting REAL help, the solution 20 years later is to follow in
dad's footsteps, and abuse innocent people (mostly women)?? I repeat, Stella,
this is NOT surviving abuse.. This is keeping the sick chain going...

>This is how lots of abused men turn their rage against women.

I think the only counselors Axl has seen are bottles and needles.

Ohh, yes. Violence fixes everything. Keeping the violent chain going is the
solution.. Have you EVER heard of rising above the wrongs in your life, and the
world? Kicking the crap out of their elderly fathers is lowering themselves to
their level...

This has got to be one of the most twisted things I've ever seen anyone post..

>It sounds like you and I know a hell of a lot more about Axl than

That much is certain...Even if you consider Axl a great musician, there is
nothing to admire about Axl the person... I don't know if Axl really was abused
- outside of his self-inflicted abuse - but continuing the chain of abuse by
starting riots at concerts, hitting neighbors with beer bottles, and punching
his wife only shows he's a sick bastard who has done nothing to deal with his
abuse... Either he's your typical "macho man" who thinks therapy and crying are
for sisses and doesn't care to help himself, or he's an asshole who thinks
abusing women is okay. I'm leaning toward the latter.

You know, I've gone through my share of abuse in my life. And since I know how
much it hurt, and still hurts to this day, there's no way in hell I could turn
around and inflict any kind of abuse upon another human being... I happen to be
a very compassionate person - even though I admit I can come across like an
opinionated pain in the ass - and I have far too much compassion for people in
general to hurt a human being even remotely as much as I've been hurt in my
life.. I'd rather die than hurt another person.

You'd think if Axl was abused and hurt the way Stella made it sound, he'd have
the same mentality. Really makes me wonder about him...

>Since he's driven off the rest of GNR, I hope that
>album he's been "working on" for the last several years never sees the

Axl's attitude and ego has destroyed GnR - no real loss, if you ask me... I
hope this album he's been "working on" since 1994 never gets recorded, and I
hope his career is finished.. Not only has he destroyed his band and career,
and deserves a life of obscurity, but I consider it karma and payback for the
pain he's caused so many others in his life... Someone who has hurt so many
innocent people doesn't deserve a career or success. I'm sorry if that sounds
cold, but damnit, every so often I like to see the nice guys finish first and
the nasty ones finish last - the way it should be.. Axl has had many years and
chances to fix himself and turn his life around, and he's chosen to vent his
pain out and cause others pain than heal himself.

I felt I should comment on this line from my own post.. I don't want anyone who
ever dealt with substance abuse to take this as a cheapshot, because it was not

People have different ways of coping with problems and pain, and some have done
so with drugs and alcohol... And I don't hold that against them. My "anger" in
my previous post wasn't directed at people who may have made mistakes in their

Since you love to search dejanews so much, simply go back to the start of
this thread. If you notice the header says "Joe Gallante and the Degrading
Nature of Porn." In the first article, "Stella" repeats his/her long
standing story that Mindy McCready engaged in kiddie porn. This is a story
that Stella has told for two years. It's a story that has no foundation in
truth.

I've told you before, I don't need to search deja.com. My memory is just
fine. And since you can't remember that, evidently yours is shot.

And in this thread, so far I can't find anyplace where Stella defends,
rationalizes, or justifies kiddie porn. If you can find an instance, I
dare you to point it out.

And you've misspelled Joe's name.

So then you agree with what "Stella" says about Mindy? Or are you just
nit-picking again? Therefore, I can tell lies or invent stories, but if I
defend, rationalize, or justify anything, that's a crime? Or do you have
a different set of rules for me?

If you went into a court of law on a case of kiddie porn, you would find
there's no shades of gray. The child abused by kiddie pornsters is the
victim, represented by the state. The pornographers who depicted and
exploited her are the defendants, facing a minimum of ten years in
prison. There's none of the questions that would apply in adult porn
regarding consent or socially redeeming value. The state would simply
prove that the young woman did appear in porn before majority age. Then,
the people who made the porn would be sleeping on hard cots a long time.

There's no defense against the charge of exploiting a women 17 years or
younger in a sexual act, other than "I didn't do it." In these days,
jurors despise kiddie pornsters and those who collaborate with them.

My point is this. If Joe Galante knows that Mindy was the victim of
pornography before age 18, doesn't he have a responsibility to tell the
states of Tennessee and Florida what he knows?

If a BTO collaborates with those who racketeer to deny Mindy a chance to
earn a living, is that a crime in itself?

I want Joe Galante to start opening his mouth and talking truth to the
appropriate authorities in Florida and Tennessee. Otherwise, I want Joe
Galante to face the legal consequences of the actions he's taking.

There's no horses or men in Germany that will save Joe Galante from truth
and justice, when the time comes. If he's perceived as damaged goods, Joe
Galante will be thrown overboard by Bertlesmann in a heartbeat.

And if the whole thing is fiction, don't you have the responsibility to
admit it?

If your employer finds out something about your past, he actually has no
responsibility to tell anyone anything unless the authorities ask.

No one is denying anyone a chance to do anything. You might take this up
with her manager, whose job it is to get her work.

You have a 22-year old daughter.

Five years ago, she was horribly exploited by kiddie pornsters who
filmed her in sex acts. Those depictions are circulating all over the
world, for all to see. Only you don't know about it.

All you know is...your daughter can't get work. Doors are slamming in
her face at every turn.

One man for whom your daughter has worked, the Chief Executive Office
of an international corporation, knows many details about the violation
of your daughter. But this CEO will not bring the information forth to
law enforcement, so they can investigate and prosecute. Also, this CEO
watches your daughter's career being blackballed in secret and says not
one public word against it. Also, this CEO has taken measures to
perpetuate the secrecy and silence.

Then, one day you find out all this is true. What do you feel?

You keep saying she can't get work. Yet she keeps getting work. She has a
record deal. She just finished recording an album. She makes personal
appearances. Radio stations are playing her new single. And no one has
ever been able to produce these pictures you keep talking about. Including
you. How do you reconcile this conflict?

I could really give a flying crap about Mindy, or what Stella says about
her. That subject doesn't interest me. Now if Stella said someone
should cream-pie Mary-Chapin Carpenter, *that* would interest me. Maybe
I could chip in.

> Therefore, I can tell lies or invent stories,

You've been doing that all along.

Although what you do seems criminal, I didn't say it was a crime.
But since this group is supposed to be about music, and I believe
that traditional country music should be the norm not the exception, and
I believe the public should be presented with a wider choice not
narrower, through radio, yet you defend, justify, and rationalize the
very opposite, then Yes, I think you are the true antagonist against
music here.

Stella writes about some really off-the-wall things, and a certain degree
of it is fiction. You're pointing out those things to try to say you are
better. I'd rather read an amount of bizarre stuff, than someone anxious
to relegate traditional country music to obscurity, and radio to a
mindless drone. Looking at everything in perspective, you are quite the
villain.

I'm sorry but that's the way I see it.

Scott,

Personally, I've grown quite tired of the infantile tiffs that you and CB
have with each other. But to justify Stella's cruel and callous posts as
yet another attempt to insult CB is really going too far. Insult CB all
you'd like but please don't even give the appearance that his posts are more
'villainous' than Stella's. Stella's sole intent is to insult and degrade
innocent people.

Thanks,
Stacy Brian Pleasant

I didn't really think I justified them.

I'm not sure if that's Stella's intent or not. Even if it is, it's
happening to a few people. And I don't care. My concern is music and
radio. I stand behind what I said.

Which you seem to accept from him/her, but not me. If I were to write
fiction, you'd attack it as "lies" and attack me until your fingers bled.
As you have in the past.

No. I'm trying to understand why different rules only apply to me.

I've never said anything of the kind. I just attempt to explain why things
are. Just because I tell you the bad news and you don't like it doesn't
mean I agree with what's going on. But it *is* going on, and very little
you do in Usenet will change it.

Tyrone, thanks for your comments and I hope you feel welcome here.

Don't be bothered by Linda or her slurs. She's a stupid, nasty, bitter
bitch. She does her best to make all newbies feel unwelcome, because
it's important for her to be "the expert."

What I've said all along is...if there was even one or two black
artists prominent in today's Nashville country, the music would have a
future. Trini Triggs has everything it takes, and played by all the
rules. But he was still blackballed because of his color.

I'm sorry to hear you was shot, Tyrone. You're a survivor.

Most folks in Nashville aren't against black people. There's many black
people in Nashville, and most of them like music. If you went to the
black universities there like Fisk or Tennessee State, you'd hear good
music of all types, including country/folk.

There's a small number of people in Nashville who are bigoted toward
blacks, and those people are in control of Nashvill's country music.
It's a big reason the rest of the U.S. is turning away from Nashville
music. Because country music bigshots are so narrow-minded, they can't
see how much racism is hurting them.

Most of the writers and artists in Nashville aren't racists, Tyrone.
They're just cowards of the worst type. They will not stand up for a
principle. Why? When someone stands on principle, even a child like
LeAnn Rimes, she is criminally blackballed. And the rest of the artists
and writers just cave in. They are very sad people, Tyrone. You're a
lot smarter and braver than they are.

The only principal LeAnn Rimes ever stood on was the administrator of her
elementary school. And if I could make the kind of money she makes, I'd
gladly be "blackballed."
