I wondered if there were any Dan Seals fans lurking about. Anyone who
would like to correspond about this fabulous, but largely unnoticed
talent would be most welcome.
Of course, I'm talking about the Dan Seals who used to be England Dan
(with John Ford Coley) from the 70's, who converted over to
country/light rock/pop in the 80's and into the present. He is NOT the
Seals from "Seals and Crofts".
That is just about exactly where my head is at musically these days,
and his latest album (Fired Up) is a great piece of work. I'd love to
find out what his summer schedule is this year, if anyone knows.

Actually, he's a brother to Jim Seals of "Seals & Crofts".
Dan Seals is just another example of an artist who has been pushed aside
in favor of the new, younger crowd of country singers. I can't remember when
I last heard anything by him on the radio, but it has been at least a couple of
years.
I really liked alot of his earlier country recordings. The last recording of his
that I heard was on a CMT video a few months back and I really wasn't very
impressed. The stuff was just too pop... not the kind of stuff I've gotten used
to from Dan Seals.

Dan Seals is a very gifted & talented performer as well as song writer.
How long have you been following Dan???
I wish I knew if he were touring, but I'm not sure. There is a lady on
the internet, Debora something or other. If I find her, I'll draw
attwention to your message. She knows everything about most every artist!

Dan is definitely still touring, though it may mostly be small towns and little
fairs. I missed him by a couple of days in Gilette, WY at the end of June.

Well, I've been following ol' Dan since the early 70's, with England
Dan & John Ford Coley. But I really learned to appreciate his music
when he started doing solo country. Like "My Old Yellow Car", "God
Must Be A Cowboy", "Big Wheels in the Moonlight". I suppose the
trigger was from CMT, when he came out with "They Rage On". I loved
that song and video so much, I went in search of everything I could
find, and that summer, he came to our little country fair out here in
Oregon. He was fabulous, and I met and thanked him afterward.
Ai also play in a ittle country band and do a lot of home recording,
and I find myself doing a lot of Dan's music these days.
