The following is a photo of Shania on the set of her New video posing with
Katie Cook from CMT's "Most Wanted Live" show:
http://www.shania-twain.org/mb/attachment.php?s=&postid=46445
She looks beautiful, as usual. It's impressive that she still looks so good
after having a baby. I give her a lot of credit, it's a lot of work to eat
right and exercise. It's much, much easier to sit around eating twinkies
bitching about how a person like Shania shows her stomach all the time, when
the person moaning hasn't tried exercising a day in their life, then they
belittle her lol
Annie
You sure pay a lot of attention to all the Shania threads and you claim to
despise her, it's kinda sad how much she truly bothers you.
Annie
You sound as though you speak from experience.

I want to see the PREGNANT Shania before I'll ever believe she knows
anything about birthin' a baby, Miss Scarlet.
Ok, hmmm... personal attack against me, that was suppose to really hurt my
feelings. Give me a second to collect myself. I would be so much more hurt if
you said something that was actually hurtful. I have no shame in admitting that
it's really hard to stay in shape and it's extremely easy to just sit around
and eat. So if speaking from experience means that, like most people, on some
days I want to eat a lot and on some days I control myself and try really hard
to stay in shape, then yes I am speaking from experience. But what I would
never do, and plenty of people do this, is to insult a lady, like Shania,
because she stays in shape and leads a healthy lifestyle. I give her tons of
credit because I know how personally hard it is. So nect time, please try to
respond or insult me with a little more pizzazz.
Annie
Yes, your right. Silly me, we all should ask for proof that this is in fact
"her" baby. With the kind of women she is, she probably would not want to mess
up her body with a silly thing like pregnancy. In fact, now that I think about
it, she probably bought this baby off the black market, or maybe she even
bought one of Faith's kids, they have about 7 or 8 by now, don't they?? Plenty
of kids to spare..... Damn she is sneaky, trying to full us into thinking that
she was actually pregnant, first she ruins country music, then she ruins pop
music, now she's buying babies....
Annie
Maybe she had twins and that's where Michael's new son came from!
Ray Arthur
I am sure this was supposed to be sarcastic, but, does it really sound like
that much of a stretch????

--Here are photos of Shania Pregnant:

--Here are photos *after* giving birth to Eja:
http://www.geocities.com/tommy3069/stararticle09182001baby.html
Helpful Hint: Eja is the little baby over her shoulder. Also, the reason
Shania might be a little 'fat' is because she had just given birth.
It's amazing what you people will make up just to insult Shania.
I finally bought Shania's "Come on Over" and "The woman in me" from a
used music store. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like
both CDs. The production quality and attention to detail (Mutt's strong
point) in each song makes all a pleasure to listen to.
maybe it isn't pure country, but it is good music. And with the number of
songs she puts on CD, she gives you your money's worth.

Ouch, going after Shania or the fan ?lol. I didnt get to excitied about how
great she looks. Must be nice to afford a personal trainer and cooks.
Barb
Well, it's beyond disgusting & merely insulting when someone questions Shania's
pregnancy & brings Michael Jackson, of all people, into the discussion.
No matter how much someone hates Shania, that was uncalled for.
--BTW: I *don't* share every minute detail.
I didn't get all excited Or post anything when Shania cut her hair & got some
highlights in it a while back. Nor did I write "Country Weekly" demanding that
she be on the cover for it.
Also, I may be wrong, but I don't ever remember starting tons of different
threads when Shania had Eja. (I think started one or two.) I also don't
remember stating that I want to know the details of his birth. (It's none of
my business.)
I couldn't care less about stupid things like that. However, News about a New
interview, album, or single is quite different. It's especially different when
I know that there *are*, believe it or not, Shania fans here who are interested
in at least some of the information I happen to post.
LOL! I agree! :)
ROFLMAO !!!!!
Barb
Barb
.
Well, actually laughing at a 'joke' about Michael Jackson on a Country music
newsgroup tends make *you* look "obsessive."
Of course, anything is 'ok' with *you* as long as it slams Shania, right?
Quit being so high & mighty Barb. You're really *not* in a position to judge
anyone.
I know, your right It's much easier for stars to eat right and exercise.
Because those personal trainers do the running for you, and they lift your legs
when your doing weight training, it's so completely different from us mortals
who actually feel the pain and do the exercises when we work out. Then there is
the whole personal chef thing..us in normal society, where 60% of people are
obese, cannot think of ways to cook healthy meals for ourselves, if only we all
had cooks like Miss Shania, then we all would be skinny. I do apologize for
complementing her willpower and for staying in shape because as you pointed
out, so astutely, it doesn't take much for her, or any star for that matter, to
accomplish those goals.
Annie
No Jenny, it does not sound like a stretch of the imagination by any means. A
person who acts like Shania, ie. takes care of her family for years after her
parents are killed, donates to numerous childrens' charities, has a very
genuine and down to earth personality, oh and yes the most important part, the
ultimate evil, stays in extremely good shape, is defintely the type of person
who would not want one of those things inside of her, stretching her all out.
Because as us women know, ladies who try to look good, take care of themselves,
and stay in shape, are all cold, selfish, and unwilling to birth little ones...
So your right, I should not expect anything less from her.
Annie
Now this is the obsessive fan, geesh are you always this bratty ?
Barb
Huh?
Stacy P.
Oh, so I am not permitted to talk out against Shania ? I am not allow to say
her music is strictly pop and that is slamming. Who in the hell do you think
you are. You have been hateful, when it comes to Faith Hill. I have
complimented Shania, I have even bought her cds in the past. I dont like
her, I have the right to say that. I have the right to laugh when someone
says something funny. Sorry, but Shania is NOT a god and I refuse to treat
her like one. She hasn't done a damn thing for me. So when you start getting
ready to slam others about not being obssessively in love with your
favorite, think how you come across when you start slamming other peoples
favorites like Tim, Kenny and Faith. I have NEVER seen you pay them any kind
of compliment .... I have stated Shania has a talent. I just dont think she
is country in any way, shape form or fashion. i have NEVER spoken out about
her personaility only her music. I have NEVER slamed her private life... YOU
do that with TIM, FAITH and KENNY. So get off your damn hollier than thy
high horse. So, if saying she has a personal trainer and a cook.... if that
is slamming her....then so be it. IF speaking out about the way I feel
about her musical talent is slamming her than you have a problem. Its my
opinion .... if you dont like it then kilfile me.
Barb
Yes, Barbs. Making a few comments and stating my opinion, which is the opposite
of yours, does qualify as being an obsessive fan, excuse me while I go chant
her name for a few hours. I was agreeing with your extremely astute post of how
easy it is for stars to stay in shape, you made a very valid point and I was
commenting on it, and of course I was also fullfilling my stalker duties.
Annie
That, right there, shows that you have a terrible Selective Reading problem.
I guess you missed my comments about my Favorite 'old' Faith songs.
Oh, well. It's your loss.

How about a "NEW photo of Shania!" You think that's closer to a new
interview/album/single than to a haircut and highlights?
--
Jon Weisberger
Considering the fact that every has said she's "hiding" & that she has Not made
any public appearances in about 2 Years, I'd say it's closer to a New
interview/album/single.
If she had been Constantly in the spotlight (like Faith), I would Not have even
posted it at all. There would be *no* point. After all, when was the last
time I *ever* posted a "NEW photo of Shania!" in the past?
A *2 Year* absence, IMO, is worthy of a topic titled "NEW photo."
You're right. And that's one of the worst photos I've ever seen of her.

Dear Mr. or Ms. Kersey, Jr.,

Well, there you go.
Haircut/highlights - appearance, no music content whatsoever
Album = music
Single = music
Interview - presumably includes some discussion of music
Photo = appearance, no music content whatsoever

Jon Weisberger

Give me a break, for crying out loud. You're turning into the mirror image
of RKerseyJR - opposite in your view of Twain and her music, but equally
obsessive and intolerant of disagreement.
> [Allison Moorer's] new record is as good as the first two.
Indeed it is, but it's pretty different. You get on Twain's case for making
pop, rather than country music; why do you give Moorer a pass in that
regard?
--
Jon Weisberger
Do you know I wish I could of also. I heard her music on the Horse Whisper
and fell in love with her voice. Sadly I have not yet, been able to find one
of her cds in the stores here.
I have even looked at the 3 best stores in town. =( So, I watch the movie,
just to hear her sing at times.
Barb
And don't forget AJ.
Yeah, as opposed to Faith, Martina,
Reba, Sara, Lee Ann and countless others
who all let themselves go completely
to hell after childbirth. Give me a break.
Sure Shania probably looks good (I don't care enough to check the pictures, but
I'll take your word for it), but keep it
in perspective. It's part of what most
celeb's do.
Besides, in Shania's case, if she didn't
look hot she'd have to depend on her
talent for her level of success.
I'll just leave it at that.

Exactly.

Please, go back and read exactly where I said that Shania looks great and it's
impressive, but Faith, and the others that you mentioned, look like hell and
let themselves go. They were not even part of the discussion, I did not post a
comparitive artist post, alluding that all the other named artists look like
crap and Shania is the only one who looks good. So please try to keep your
comments in perspective.
>
>Besides, in Shania's case, if she didn't

This is just another example of someone who dislikes an artist so much that
they have to go way off topic. I am not talking about her talent, her voice,
her albums, if you like her or not.....like I mentioned earlier, I am not a big
fan of all of her music, I like her stuff from TWIM, and a I did not care for
some of the stuff on COO, but regardless I can seperate it by saying that I am
impressed that she looks so good. I do not care about her trainers, chefs, or
so on....it was a simple compliment that obviously is not wanted in this
newsgroup.

Now how could I forget that one. He/She was extremely vile toward one of
the nicest people in country music. I have yet to hear anything bad about
him from anyone.
Barb
Well, Ann, please consider dropping the sarcasm and realizing, it is not
really that much of a stretch for some women NOT to want to wreck their
bodies with pregnancy. Even women who *aren't* in the public eye, or who
aren't always being scrutinized, can be hesitant to sacrifice the perfect
bodies for which they've worked so hard. It happens, right or wrong.
FWIW, I don't doubt Shania's pregnancy and I don't doubt that she was
thrilled to be pregnant. But I do think it is a weak argument to
sarcastically deny the fact that for some women, vanity does take
precedence.
And I also think this is not related to country music, so let's get back to
that.

I hope that is true, but from everything I know about Allison and

Well, that is your opinion. Speaking from personal experience, it is a lot of
work to stay in shape and to eat right. You don't have to agree, it's my
opinion. I would never catergorize staying in great shape and eating right as
"no big deal" because if that were the case then we not have an epedemic
problem with obesity, especially with kids. Just because it's "part of her job"
does not make it any easier. Yes, stars have trainers, more time, and money to
have chefs, but it still does not negate the fact that staying in shape and
eating food that does not always taste too good is not an easy thing to do, not
all the money or fame in the world can negate that fact.

May I suggest that a real way of being bratty is to reply to people without
using the names under which they post. Barb is just that, not "Barbs" same as
in your previous reply you called Jennifer "Jenny". When you are a personal
friend of someone, then change their names. Till then, don't. BTW making a
joke, as someone did with the Michael Jackson crack is not in anyway obsessive,
light throwaway remarks about a subject or a person show a scant disregard, the
very opposite of obsessive.
Oh, and before you start on me, I was given Shania's TWIM CD, individually I
like some of the songs, but the whole thing all at once puts me to sleep. I
don't really care either way what she does or doesn't do. There are many
artists I am extremely keen on that often get dissed by others but it doesn't
bother me, and I certainly don't get into a war of words about it. I like them,
stiff biccies if others don't. There are also other posters on this group that
have views so opposite to mine it ain't funny. The ones that make my blood
boil, well I killfiled them long ago. The ones I like for other reasons I get
on with for the things we do have in common. For example, Pete knows that his
views on children send me around the bend, but that doesn't stop being talking
to him about music especially since the man introduced me to Delbert :) I
suggest you and RJ Kersey stop trying to fight Shania's battles for her and get
on with your own lives.

Are you 12? As a celebrity, it is SHania's job to stay looking the way
she does, and it is a lot easier to have an expensive personal trainer,
then to try to do it all ourself. I know people who have exercised for
years and never accomplish what "ollywooders" can accomplish in a few
months, and that my friend, is what personal trainers are for. You see,
us "regular folks", we have full time jobs, and then we have kids to
pick up, homework to he,p them with, laundry, dinner, dishes, the whole
nine yards. My job isn't waking up in my lavish European home, with
maids and cooks, and trying to fit in a workout session with my personal
trainer. And the reason you are getting slammed, since you can't figure
it out ourself, is because you didn't compliment Shania on her body, you
made crude remarks about all the "fat people sitting around eating
twinkies bitching". If you have to knock others down to make her look

Well to be honest, I wasn't trying so much to insult you, as I was
pointing out your insult of others. Try thinking before you type next
time, you might just find it refreshing. Though I am sure you are
right, and there are millions of fat people sitting around eating right
now cursing out that damn Shania and her thinness!

So you're feeling a little HAGGARD because you lack the GREEN stuff? I
have FAITH that the TWAIN of you shall get over this HILL. In the meantime,
brew some COFFEY, TY back the curtains, let a RAYE of sunshine in, and cozy
up with your GUY. So you're not RICH? At least you're not LOVELESS!

Ovations are really good instruments. If a boat paddle is considered an
instrument.
I don't care for Tak's either. They make a decent stage guitar as long as it
is plugged in, but playing it strictly acoustic into a microphone, it's a
dead sounding, unresponsive, piece of plywood.
We were actually talking about this the other day.
My touring performing friend believes that if you are going to plug in (using
a piezo pickup) that a laminate back and sides with a solid top is what you
need as an all solid wood guitar is just too responsive. HE also says that he
hates to fly with his 28 (Martin D-28) as it usually takes it 3 days to
recover from the climate & atmospheric changes.
I like Collings guitars personally, I just don't like the price tags on
Collings guitars. So I ain't got one. I would also like to be able to find me
a good, resonably priced, Martin D-18. I'm not a big Gibson fan as the music I
normally play doesn't seem to lend itself real well to that Gibson tone. I
have played ONE Gibson Gospel that I really liked.
I play a Sigma SDR-28. I call it a Japanese Martin. Except it's made in Korea.
But it is imported by Martin. It's based on Martin's D-28 pattern. Solid top,
laminate back and sides (the R stands for Rosewood) It's got really killer
tone. My other guitar is a solid top (laminate back & sides) Washburn that
belonged to a dead friend of mine. It's kind of nice for playing Old Time and
for some country band situations as it doesn't "cut" like the Sigma does.

If someone walked up to your door right now and offered you 10 million
dollars to lose weight and get in shape, don't think that would ease the
burden just a bit? DUH! Thats the point everyone is trying to make.
If was my full time job to look as good as Shania, and I was making
millions off of it, you can bet your bottom dollar I would eat horrible
things like brussel sprouts, cooked carrots and squash if I had to, and
probably wouldn't mind all that much, especially if I had a cook to do
all the work for me and make it taste better.
Brandy
hmmmm maybe if you settled down by one of America's lovely BROOKS, and
read LAWRENCE of Arabia, you might get it DUNN ! Of course I think
there is one of those BROOKS in MONTGOMERY. Or is it in ALABAMA?
Hmmmm one of these days I will get it WRIGHT. It's like right over
that HILL, in the land of DIXIE.

Cooked carrots? What the hell's wrong with cooked carrots?
That's WITH Cheddar cheese sauce, right?

Please. At 5' 1", your parents must have been thrilled whenever you ate
anything. :) Did they tell you it was good for your eyes, and that's why
rabbits don't wear glasses, too? :) I've seen your picture. I guess even your
parents lied to you! :) Let's be honest, pee wee, it's a minor miracle, if they
didn't put you up for adoption! :)
They've always said that smoking stunts your growth, so I guess it's safe to
say your mother allowed you to light up while you were breast feeding. :)
Not to worry, oh little one, we all love you. :) P.S. - Especially Annette
Funicello! :)
Oh no Ray, covered in brown sugar !

Hey!
I like brussels sprouts, and squash, but I prefer my carrots raw.
Oh, yeah - I'm a fairly good cook, and my steamed zucchini parmesan
in tomato sauce is pretty damn good - my DW even agrees. ( And by DW,
I don't mean dishwasher!)
OTOH, I don't think Dave Thomas or Ray Kroc could have ever paid me
enough to eat their crap anymore - you know: Wendy's, McD's, BK...
Nobody has to pay me to eat those "horrible" grains, legumes and
greens ... and yet I'm dirt poor. Go figure.

>What the hell's wrong with cooked carrots?
Only one thing - they're cooked. Some prefer them raw, but for me,
cooked is ok with peas or limas, or in a stew or casserole.
Why do people buy fresh corn, still on teh cob, and then cook it?
Why do people eat watermelon flesh and throw away the seeds?
...
... why

...why do
...
...
...why do people eat liver? YUCK! ;->

Dolly was on the cover of Playboy. Is she a shameless hussy?
Well, we know what Porter thought the answer was, lol.

LOL you couldn't be more correct. I hate those ovation acoustic guitars.
You're playing it, and the next thing you know, it's slid into your lap like
a Dobro. That fiberglass can't have the same acoustic quality as wood
anyway.
Yes, they have a very good sound plugged in. I have a Fender and a Gibson
acoustic, which are very old, and I haven't been in the market for a new
acoustic for quite some time. But, the current "fad" at least around
Nashville are those Taylor acoustics. Most of those cost more than a Gibson
or Martin though.
I'd like to have one of those as well, having always been a fan of the sound
that Johnny Winter gets out of one.

Oh, ye of little faith
>Dolly was on the cover of Playboy. Is she a shameless hussy?
Her recent video is ridiculous. She looks like Tammy Faye with all
that terrible makeup. And her singing, on that one, is mediocre,
at best. I know she can do better - when she wants to. I just don't
get it.
If this is Dolly's latest idea of versatility, well, then ...
... she ought to keep her "9 to 5" job.
