Radio paid attention. She had two #1 songs. There are many singers her
age who'd kill for two #1s and a double platinum album.
On what chart?
All the blame can't be placed on radio. It doesn't help that the recent
music of Mindy and Sawyer Brown pale in comparison to their earlier works.
Current Sawyer Brown material, for the most part, is not of the same caliber
as Some Girls Do, Cafe On The Corner, etc. And Mindy still has me
bewildered as to how she can follow up a gem like Ten Thousand Angels with
her last two efforts.

Did any of you see the special on Bravo Tv on Nashville and some of its
singers. Mindy was the main topic of this show and it was taped
sometime after her first album was released and she was still pretty
HOT. Well anyway it kind of potrayed her as a little lazy and she was
complaining about staying in motels all the time and having to carry
her own luggage and stuff like that. She was also in California with
Dean Cain and her manager or record label or whoever it was, was trying
to get her back in the studio to record a new album and I think out on
the road to promote herself, but she said that she just didn't feel
like it right now.She wanted to stay in California with Dean. The
record label said she had better get with it because you don't get that
many chances. Reba McEntire was on the same show and she was just the
opposite of Mindy. She said you have to work hard all of the time
because there are just 8 million people out there who want your job. I
guess this is one of the main reasons that Reba is still around after
so many years and Mindy is now struggling.

Before you buy.
I saw that show and you're right. Mindy sounded like a petulant child but Reba
really impressed me with her commitment to her career and music.

This post shows just how little you know about country. And about Mindy.

To quote Neal McCoy, a #1 is a #1. If it goes to #1 on an established
trade chart (Billboard, R&R, or Gavin), it's a #1. And it demonstrates
that radio paid attention. Because those charts reflect airplay.
That's why her career is over...........

Not true. She had a total of five radio hits. Then she started pulling
the star trip. You can't blame others if the artist doesn't care enough
about her own music to promote it. She's a textbook case of too much too
soon. The music business is a competition. It's not charity. And last
time I checked, there is no shortage of people who say they can sing.
