Is Katie Haas permentially hosting "Prime Time Country?"

I hope so! She is the only one I would watch since Crook and
Chase.

Isn't Katie the best. She makes "prime time" on TNN worth watching again
but unfortunately she is just guest hosting :-(

I have a friend who works at WSM, and he told me that the show is
unofficially cancelled. They're going to honor the contracts with the
advertisers until the end of the year, but then it's over. The ratings on
the show, at its BEST showing, aren't even up to the WORST numbers when
Ralph Emery had the time slot.

Crook & Chase made me hurl chunks. They were always so damned impressed with

I don't think I've liked any of the hosts on the PTC show all that
well. I guess Marty Stuart would come close to being my favorite.

Personally, the ratings pretty much tell the story behind the show. I
don't watch it because of the time slot. So inconvenient. Plus, I
think it is way too long to conveniently watch at any time. I think
an hour would be plenty with fewer guests. I'm sure if I was there
for a taping I wouldn't say that but still. Maybe the taping should
be two or three times a week and two tapings for each audience.

There are so many better things to do with the show than what they do.
There is no incentive to watch it. Of course, I'm usually not home or
doing homework while listening to the stereo at that time.

TNN just makes me ill anyway. There is so much NON-country
programming that it is pathetic. More country programming would pull
a better rating for everything I think.

TNN Country News is very much worth watching but again, the time slot
is totally inconvenient therefore I miss it.

I agree with you -- Katie is the only one that could host Prime Time
Country. But they're trying out several folks, including Katie, Bob
Eubanks and Gary Chapman. A decision on a permanent host, or co-hosts,
won't be made until the fall.

I like Katie Haas, but actually I think Bob Eubanks is pretty good.
I just could not stand Tom Wopat on the show and Crook and Chase were so
Mate Match...and Ralph Emery makes me nauseated!

TNN has pretty much lost my interest. I really used to love
American Music Shop and some of the unusal showcases like Jennifer
Warnes, Kevin Welsh, and some of the edge performers, But they seem
to prefer the Statlers and 50's retro mush to traditional country
except with the overabundant Ricky Skaggs and Bill Monroe.. Maybe it
is me but I find myself scanning for alternative country groups on
tnn is boring
