Completing this thought, is "rising sun" a euphemism for "vagina"?
Arousal --> reddening, swelling, and parted lips, exposing more red,
something like the sun rising (?)

If so, then "House of the Rising Sun" would make sense as a name for a
bordello, although my impression from reading is that being aroused is not
part of the job for seasoned prostitutes.

It is hard for me to believe that "rising sun" could have been in common
use with this meaning, or any other sexual meaning, and not have been
known to Gerson Legman, who spent his entire career exploring such
matters.

A WWW site, http://lugnutz.com/slang.htm, identifies "land of the rising
sun" with the vagina during menstruation.
