ABC evening news had a nice obit. I was surprised. Does
Jennings like bluegrass?

On behalf of the Bluegrass pickers club , and the O'Neill Family
in Western Australia, we send our condolences to all those agrieved
by the tragic passing away of Bill Monroe. His presence and inspiration
will be felt for ever to come. I know Bill is in a better place,
jammin that old time sound with the Angels and saints.

God bless you Bill, we'll miss you down here.

NY Times also had a good obit. There was even an announcement,
with a page reference to the obit, on the first page.

I was just discussing Bill's death with a friend. When I saw Bill
at Roanoke in 1965, he was only about 5 years older than I am now.
Two or three years ago I realized that more years had passed
since then than had passed between the founding of the Bluegrass
Boys in 1939 and that 1965 festival. I've lived most of my life
with Bill Monroe as an important presence, even an icon.

"Gone but not forgotten".

I think He was quoted as saying he was a "closet clogger".
