Hi old-time music friends!
A dear pal of many of ours, Megan Merker (wife of fiddler Ron Kane), is suffering from a very aggressive cancer. And she's already in a huge amount of debt from the treatments and needs to find money to pay for more in order to survive. She's reached out to me to get the word out about their need for help, as their energy is focused on Meghan's health and maintaining their ranch.
Ron & Meghan run a working sheep ranch in rural Montana, near Dillon. Both are amazing musicians and have done alot to keep old-time fiddling and traditional cowboy songs alive. Some of you may remember they were recently featured at the Portland Old-Time Music Festival (2011, I believe).
They have a donation site set up at https://www.wepay.com/donations/let-s-keep-meghan-merker-alive-and-fiddling
Their goal is to make $30,000 - which is really a paltry sum when a wonderful person's life is at stake. Donate what you can please!
