Chuck Wagon Gang/Carter Family

The gospel singing group, the Chuck Wagon Gang, was organized by D. P. Carter
in 1935. D. P. had nine children, three of which were part of the original
group, along with D. P. (Dad).
My question: does anyone know if this family of Carters were related to Mother
Maybelle Carter, who along with her cousin Sara Carter and Sara's husband A.P.
Carter formed the Carter Family country music group in the 1920s?. If related,
what was the relationship?

I don't know for sure, but I'd guess the two families are probabaly not
related. I seem to recall that D.P.'s family was originally from
southcentral Kentucky.
I have a question of my own. I have a photograph of a musical family
group (mom and pop and a couple of young girls) which I'd guess was
taken in the mid-thirties to early forties. The group played and sang
on WHOP in Hopkinsville, KY. Etched into the photo is "Carter Family #
2. Anybody know who these folks might be?

married to one of them.
