Donna Chapel began her career as an Epic Recording artsist, at the age of 15.
She was backup vocalist for then, step mother Tammy Wynette, and can be heard
on some of Wynette's earliest records.

Donna's family has been involved in the music field for many years. Her
aunts, The Amburgey sisters, later Sunshine Sisters, were the first all
sister female string band in the US.

Her father, Don Chapel, wrote dozens of songs for people like, George Jones,
Conway Twitty, Jack Grenne, Ernest Tubb, Kitty Wells, just to name a few. His
song "When the grass grows over me" was nominated as one of five top songs by
the CMA in 1969. Don's sister Jean had one of her songs nominated by the CMA
in 1973 "To Get To You", and Jean wrote hundreds of songs, to be recorded by
170 different artists.
