Anyone recommend this compilation? I know it has a few Charley Patton
sacred tunes, but I haven't been able to come across a lineup on it. Is it
in the mini-book format that Fahey has used for the Dock Boggs compilation
and Anthology of American Music Vol 4?

delightful little booklet of notes, comments and pontifications by Fahey -
lovely stuff! [Weird, but not Marcus weird]. The sound is a bit ropey at
times, but that is to be expected. For me, the amazing 'Holy Mountain' by
Elder Otis Jones is alone worth the price of admission. If you go to CDNOW
website and put 'American Primitive Vol 1' into the album title search
option, you'll get a full track listing and audio samples.
