Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics to "Memories ( Memories
Waltz)" by the Leake County Revelers? I've tried to decipher them and
I think real accuracy here might be impossible. I looked in the
Guthrie Meade book "Country Music Sources" and searched on the other
artists who sang/recorded it, with no results.

Round me at twilight come stealing
Shadows of days that are gone
Dreams of the old days revealing
Memories of sweet golden dawn

Memories, memories
Dreams of love so true
O'er the sea of memory
I'm drifting back to you

Childhood days, wildwood days
Among the birds and bees
You left me alone, but still you're my own
In my beautiful memories

I believe the original was written by Gus Kahn nd Egbert Van Alstyne
in 1915.

Ahhh yes... good ol Egbert. He wrote so many. "San Antonio" is one
of my favorites. Thanks guys.

I remember it being in a songbook we used at my elementary school in
the suburbs of Cleveland. It was one of the nuns' favorites, so we had
to learn it for a pageant. I didn't hear it again until getting the
compilation of the Leake County Revelers, and I finally started liking
it.
