News Release: "Legendary guitarist, Lonnie Mack offers Holiday Sale" at
http://www.lonniemack.com
For Release: November 25, 2002

Lonnie Mack, blues and rock legend, is offering a special holiday sale for
his music, videos, song books and t-shirts. One item is a special 5-CD set
of recordings available only on the website: http://www.lonniemack.com.
Another is a package with his "Further On Down The Road" video (recorded
live at Carnegie Hall, with Albert Collins and Roy Buchanan), with a 2-CD
set of live recordings made in 1985, available only through Lonnie.

Lonnie Mack is a roadhouse blues-rock legend -- modern rock's first true
guitar hero. Lonnie's incendiary guitar playing has been cited as an
influence to many other guitar heroes such as Eric Clapton, Dickey Betts,
Jimmy Page and especially Stevie Ray Vaughan.. His career traces the
history of Rock 'N Roll, starting in 1963, with his multi-million selling
instrumental of Chuck Berry's "Memphis." Since then, Lonnie has blazed a
trail for others to follow, with guitar playing and singing that is a unique
mix of American rock and roll, blues, soul, and country roots music. Lonnie
brings them all together for a sound that has been all his own for nearly
forty years.

His early music bridged the gap between '50s rockabilly and the psychedelic
blues-rock of the following decade. Lonnie was asked to make a guest
appearance on the Doors' 1970 "Morrison Hotel" album. You can hear Lonnie's
fiery guitar solo on "Roadhouse Blues" preceded by Jim Morrison's urgent
''Do it, Lonnie! Do it!'' Lonnie played bass on this track as well.

Lonnie has shared the stage with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Keith Richards, Ron
Wood, Ry Cooder, Roy Buchanan, Albert Collins, and more. His live release,
Attack of the Killer V, on Alligator Records remains one of the label's
all-time best sellers, and continues to draw attention from Blues and Rock
fans alike. 1985's "Strike Like Lightning", with guest-disciple Stevie Ray
Vaughan is a stellar Lonnie Mack recording. That year Lonnie performed at
New York's prestigious Carnegie Hall with label-mates Albert Collins and the
late Roy Buchanan.

"A fiery player . . . one of the most soulful, compelling singers alive." -
Rolling Stone magazine
