Hi!
I had a cassette containing one symphony of Beethoven -- I don't
know which. The film `DIE HARD' had the same music. Does anyone know
which symphony of Beethoven was used in this film?

Thanks a lot friend -- appreciate your time and effort to send me
a response.

It's Beethoven's 9th symphony, in a really ugly performance.

With all the explosions and assorted noise, how can you tell? >:-)>
Whoever scores these films seems to have an affinity for "classical" steals,
though. The track for "Die Hard II" (catchy title, that..) makes frequent
use of Sibelius' "Finlandia".

The piece used was the 9th symphony. It was used when Hans and the rest of the
bad guys opened the vault. This was actually clever since the film was set at
Christmas time and the firm being ripped-off was Japanese. The 9th symphony is
as ubiquitous in Japan as Handel's Messiah is here during the holidays.

What better music to use when the bad guys get to open their presents!

Actually, I figured they'd finally made the movie that Alex was forced to
watch in _A Clockwork Orange_.
