Resigned. One version said to persue other interests another said
problems with management (The station in my opinion has dumbed down a
lot). I am unaware of her working for any other station in DC. Her
husband, Col Arnold Garbriel USMC, Ret ,late of the Marine Band ,does
conduct an orchestra in the Virginia suburbs, so I suspect she still
is in the area. She had also done a lot of voice advertising as well,
but since I usually listen to non-commercial stations (or more often
my car's tape player) I haven;t heard any of these lately, but I am in
an excellent position not to know. BTW she had quit once before to go
into television locally, but as far as I ever saw only did weekend
pitch hitting as a weather person. She then returned to WGMS.
An almost equally breathless woman does the afternoon drive time and
Dennis Owens still holds the morning slot.

Yes, Renee resigned from WGMS and she is not working at any other station.
(FYI, Judy Gerber, who was let go from WGMS prior to Renee's departure, is
the weekend person at WETA FM.) There were probably several reasons, but
one was a disagreement with management about the changes in time slot
schedules for the on-air personalities (they've since returned to
something close to the former schedule); and another was a disagreement
with management about the computer-selected play lists rather than letting
the people select their own music.
Yes, Renee and Gabe are still in the area. But he is the former director
of the Air Force Band, not the Marine Band.

She left WGMS "to pursue other interests". Rumor was she was not
happy with dumbing down of station. I presume she is still in area
since here husband Col Arnold Gabriel, former conductor of the US
Marine Band still conducts in the area. I am not aware of her being
on any other station at the moment. WGMS still has a breathless female
doing the afternoon drive time show.
