Hello,

yesterday, the Melodyhound search engine for tunes and musical themes
was turned off, and Musipedia went live as a replacement.

New URL: http://musipedia.org

Highlights of new features:

- Searches are about five times faster.
- Sheet music bitmaps and MIDI files can be stored with melodies. This
makes it easier to judge if the returned results are really what you
are looking for.
- There is more space for additional text (lyrics, title in other
languages or similar).
- Improved full-text search (for words or phrases) that can be
combined with the melody search.
- Everybody can edit, add, or delete entries.
- If you want to add a new entry, you can easily add a sheet music
bitmap and a midi file simply by entering a few lines of Lilypond
source code. Musipedia then generates the image and midi file for you,
which takes just a few seconds. There's a bit of documentation for the
most important Lilypond basics.

If you are already a registered Melodyhound user, your login now works
for Musipedia. There's no need to register again.

Enjoy!

Rainer
