To start with, download Recoverit Data Recovery application. As soon as you open the software you have a clear view of all your connected storage drives and even any hidden partitions that are connected. Simply select the drive you'd like to recover from and press the start button. You can even select specific folders to recover from directly.
Once you've hit the "Start" button a second page appears which shows you all of the files that are available. You can check previews to see if the data is recoverable which is especially useful for images prior to performing any recoveries. This is a great feature because many other recovery type software that I've used require you to recover all of the files before you can see if the data is still intact or not. Scanning through a 1TB SSD drive took approximately 7 minutes to complete; although this drive has been used for a good number of years so the amount of data in the hidden directory would have been quite significant. I'm assuming most people will be scanning SD cards and portable storage media with much lower capacities. This means that the time spent scanning will be significantly lower.
I think one of the more useful features of this file recovery software is the fact that it can also recover data from corrupted sources and formatted sources. Fact is that SD cards will fail and it's just a matter of time until you experience a failure. I've unfortunately had SD cards fail on me too, however, I was fortunate in that I didn't lose anything important. This is especially useful if you own a camera with only one card slot. You probably should have bought that camera with two card slots but at least now you have some security if you do unfortunately lose your data.
For the most part, we tend not to think about worse case scenarios very much because they're not pleasant thoughts. We tend to plod along hoping things will be ok but then go into panic mode when things go wrong. This is something I do too and I'm trying hard to get out of that mindset. Having recovery software available is kind of like insurance to some degree. You hope you never have to use it but it's great to have some available. You can try the free version before you buy and that way you know for sure that it's going to work for you. You can also recover up to 100mb worth of data with the trial version which is a nice little bonus.
Get R-Studio or GetDataBack and be happy. Remember to never run ANY file recovery software on a physically damaged or failing disk, no matter what the authors tell you. Software can't fix a hardware product and a physically failing drive must be dealt with specially.
Usman, I installed this software via your recommendations because I had an a7s lock up in the middle of a shoot and the file that was recording while the camera locked up was corrupted. I downloaded and paid for recoverit and it did not work. Is there a specific workflow for corrupted files or is their system a catch all?
Last, possibly the worst issue with the recommendation or employment of a bad product, is that it can give a false impression of hopelessness. "I ran EaseUs (or Wondershare) on my formatted drive and all it gave me was a bunch of junk. My data is totally lost forever."
Then, thinking they are screwed and that he has recovered all that will be possible, the user starts using the formatted drive again, even though all it would have taken for a better recovery would be to use a better program.
I'm glad this article was labeled as sponsored. It's unfortunate however that it even appears in Fstoppers. As others have said this software is questionable at best. I downloaded it some time ago and found it seemed to pervade my computer. Looking into it, there were Wondershare files everywhere. You can't just uninstall it with W10. You need an uninstall program that searches your entire computer for their files or tediously look for them yourself. Even if this program worked as advertised, I would not recommend it.
That does not mean to say that they won't work. They will in simple, straight forward cases probably. When dealing with more complex cases you'll need better software, developed by people that actually have an idea about real world cases. Problem is that using these low quality tools on more complex cases is that people can get the impression their data is unrecoverable if they fail. In reality their data may be recoverable by better tools and some expertise.
Wondershare Recoverit is a free tool with the only limitation that you cannot recover files amounting to larger than 100 MB. You can upgrade to the premium version to remove this restriction which starts at $40 per annum.
Talking about the software, right of the bat, I loved the look and feel of the UI. It feels good to have a modern touch to the UI with a hint of minimalism. On the first page, you will have all the external drives, disk partitions laid out in front of you. You can go ahead and perform a Recycle Bin Recovery, Deleted File Recovery or Formatted Disk Recovery.
The situation is different when it comes to PDFs, excel sheets or other documents. Recoverit can find them exactly every single time and recover them back in a usable state. I tried the same with multiple PDFs and excel sheets, Recoverit did a job with them.
For a one-time recovery process, I would recommend using Recuva. It is free and has no data recovery limit but they do come with a lot of caveats. If you are looking for a total solution for your company or your startup, the subscription price of Wondershare Recoverit with technical support makes more sense.
Generally, Windows System will show you a pop-up window when you connect the drive with Not Initialized issue to your computer. Disk unknown not initialized can be caused because of virus attack, corrupted Master Boot Record, partition loss, bad sectors, some computer file system corruption and more.
I performed data recovery on the 2TB partition using Wondershare Recoverit, and when the program finishes, you can recover your files using a standard file tree, for example C\Users\Bob\Pictures\Cat.jpg or it allows you to recover the files by themselves, with no folders. When I ONLY selected the file tree files, it adds up to 3TB of files.
Recoverit is a free data recovery tool designed for Windows users. Formerly known as Wondershare Data Recovery, the program comes with many features, including quick and deep scan, advanced video recovery, and preview functionality, among others. You can use the program to recover lost or deleted files from a range of devices, such as your mobile phone, tablet, music player, and more. Recoverit download is available in both free and paid versions, however, the free variant puts a 100MB limit on data recovery.
Irrespective of how you lost your files, you can easily recover them with this data recovery software. To start with, you need to launch the program and select the destination from where you lost your data. This destination could be anything, from your smartphone to your hard disk to your iPod to even a floppy disk. Once selected, click on the scan option to get your data back.
Help location: The Help feature that comes with this program is hidden in a drop-down menu that's accessible only through a tiny icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Fortunately, the program's interface presents everything in such a clear and streamlined way that you're not likely to need the Help document much.
The Reecoverit installer is very small because it downloads the necessary application files during the installation process. As such, it's impossible to install Recoverit without a working internet connection.
Recoverit automatically lists all available volumes on the main screen, allowing you to start a scan with a simple click. Unfortunately, there's no way to scan an entire storage device and all of its volumes in one go. You can always scan only one volume at a time.
To complete a recovery job with Recoverit, you need to select the files you want to recover, click the Recover button, and then specify the recovery directory. The software will remind you not to recover your files to the location where they were originally stored to avoid overwriting them. Once your files are recovered, you can click the Open Folder button to view them in Finder.
Recoverit does offer one killer extra feature and not much more than that: it can repair corrupted video files. If your goal is to recover a lost video from a family vacation or a similarly important event, then this feature alone might be enough to convince you to go with Recoverit instead of competing data recovery software applications.
Hey Wondershare & team today i start the recovering process as you said that restart the app then i can recover my files but as you see in this video the scanning is stuck here. I beg you please help me with support please

I'm having a problem. the program can run a regular scan of my old HDD on an old Windows XP desktop computer and it finds thousands of files, so no problem there. I select recover and it recovers and backs up years worth of old deleted files, all types. After that, it suggests running an "all-around scan" or a "deep scan," same thing, and I choose to run as it can find even more. It does find thousands of additional files, but then comes the problem. I select recover and... nothing. not a thing. doesn't give back an error message, doesn't crash, just nothing. It's like the button doesn't work. I can return to the previous scan, hit recover, and it it will work then, but if I return to the "All Around scan" it continues to not work and just do absolutely nothing. The scan takes hours to complete and the computer rarely turns off without shutting off randomly for that long, so it can take all day just to reach this point, so it is quite annoying to say the least. would anyone happen to have experience with this software and could possibly throw a few suggestions my way for this problem? thank you so much.
