I have many Cd's and other recordings of Horowitz and none contain any
impressionistic pieces such as those by Debussy and Ravel. It seems like he
skipped this group of music completely.
Is there any reason for this or are these pieces on some other rare
recordings. Did he find these composers "boring" and uninteresting or what?
I know he once said in an interview that he skipped many composer's music
mainly because he felt they did nothing to improve on the piano? Is this the
case for Debussy and other impressionistics? Any help appreciated.

I have a live recording CD which contains "L'Isle joyeuse" by Debussy.
This is quite an outstanding performance. I think that Horowitz didn't
ignore
Debussy.

I'm told that a famous pianist (I can't remember whom) was reduced to tears
upon hearing Horowitz play Ravel's "Gaspard." I wish it had been recorded.
