I have also read that Heifetz played Chopin pieces on the violin as a
form of practice. My understanding is that they transcribed their own
(or worked directly from a piano part.)

I've got two Chopin Nocturnes transcribed by Sarasate published by the above

The 2 Nocturnes are Op.9 no.2 & Op.27 no.2

Thanks. Does the op. 27 nocturne include lots of double-stops?,
...then I'm sure it's that one. (I'm sorry for the bad grammar in my
last post, I typed way too fast)

It does have a lot of double-stops, must be the right one. I have a LP by
Elman, he played the Op.9 No.2 Nocturne also arranged by Sarasate.
Happy playing and Merry Christmas!

Philip
Now that my sheet-music searchbox is working again for classical-music, I
can say, with better results, to try it, by putting in
for Composition: nocturne
for Composer chopin
and you'll see 4 results, one of them, the op. 27, #2
It's at http://www.andrys.com/books.html#smusic
