I was also running into a similar issue with Brave Browser Beta (Version 1.52.100 Chromium: 113.0.5672.92 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)) on Fedora 38 and fixed this issue by copying the file using the following commands:

But when I browse any sites the minimum font size setting is not applied. Here is the screenshot of the font size displayed on slickdeals.net(measured using whatfont chrome extension.)

3. Once downloaded, you will have a file called google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb in your /Downloads directory. The deb file format is the software package format used by Ubuntu and other Debian-based Linux distributions for quickly installing software.

I can also confirm that I have the same issue on Linux MATE 22.04.2 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) 64-bit.

When disable hardware acceleration if works fine again. I never experienced similar issue until today.

The old versions of Chrome before V58 are packed as 7zip self-extracting executable. Just run the executable and extract the files under any folder on your hard drive. Then launch Google chrome with chrome.exe under the extraction folder. After V59, the archived chrome old version files are official Chrome offline installers. Just uninstall any current version of Chrome first and then run the downloaded installer. It's a one-click installer without any interactive UI.

Now getting and downloading the prior versions of Google Chrome is possible. Slimjet share the old versions of Chrome, packed as 7zip self-extracting executable file. Download the one you need, run the executable and extract the files on your hard drive. Simply launch Google chrome with chrome.exe under the extraction folder. You can scroll above for different versions, available in 32- bit and 64- bit.

You should keep in mind that Google Chrome is not available for 32-bit operating systems. You should make sure that you are using a 64-bit operating system. Read this article to find out if your system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Hello! I am running ubuntu mate 18.04 i686 (32 bit). I would like to know how can I install google chrome (italian). I tried to download deb file from google. but when I try to install it it say that I should add architecture and install the package. How do I do that? o any other way to install google chrome.

If you purchased your computer in the last decade, it probably has a 64-bit-capable processor. The transition to 64-bit operating systems has been a long one, but Google is about to give Linux users another push. In March 2016, Google will stop releasing Chrome for 32-bit Linux distributions.

This is just another sign of the times. Mainstream Linux distributions recommend you use the 64-bit releases if possible. You can still continue using the 32-bit version, and Google is still supporting it somewhat by ensuring the open-source Chromium code continues to build for 32-bit. But Google is spending less time and effort supporting it and is encouraging users to move on.

How can I download and install Google Chrome Deb for Linux 64-bit such as Ubuntu or Debian? If you are looking for the answer to this question then you are at the right place. Google Chrome is one of the most popular browsers available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Easy-to-use features, security, and clean navigation are some of the few features to enhance the user experience.

If the latest version of Google Chrome is in repository , then using apt-get update command we can update the chrome version to latest , otherwise we have to manually download chrome from Google site and install it.

VMware Workstation runs on standard x86-based hardware with 64-bit Intel and AMD processors, and on 64-bit Windows or Linux host operating systems. For more detail, see our System Requirements documentation.

For a typical host system, we recommend that you have a 1 GHz or faster 64-bit processor (2GHz recommended) and 2GB RAM minimum (4GB RAM recommended). You must have enough memory to run the 64-bit host operating system, plus the memory required for each guest operating system and for applications on the host and guest. See your guest operating system and application documentation for their memory requirements. VMware Player requires approximately 150MB of disk space to install the application. For more details on minimum PC requirements, see the VMware Player Documentation.

It will create one single item in 'spot'. The 'Crash Reports' directory, in /spot/.config/google-chrome. However, in 13 years of using Chrome, I've never seen anything in here....and even if it were, it would only be bug-report-type stuff for Google themselves. And I doubt anybody particularly wants to carry that around with them.....

Chrome-portable now contains its own, dedicated, mini-'spot' directory, along with all associated permissions, etc. Instead of a 'PROFILE' directory - Chrome turns its nose up at this, seemingly - it's now the standard /spot/.config/google-chrome (except that it's all self-contained).

Please be aware there are now TWO 'launchers'. 'LAUNCH_NL' is the one to use for Fossapup64/other very recent 64-bit Puppies; this sidesteps the built-in 'libs' directory and allows these very recent Puppies to use their own, even newer dependencies.

It worked for me, but I found that chrome wrote a lot of data ,more than 100 MB, in hidden subdirectories of /root. I really dislike this. Is there no way to make chrome write only in its portable directory?

mikewalsh

uh, oh, I discovered why starting the launcher for portable chrome it written a lot of megabytes in my /root/spot directory

you left a broken symlink in your portable chrome archive /spot/.config/

pointing to /mnt/sda3/SYSTEM/BROWSERS/PROFILES/Chrome

removing the symlink and the upper directory, now your chrome portable don't write anything in /root

If you meanwhile already deleted this, please ignore my report

thanks for chrome portable!

do you notice blurred images in browsing webpages using chrome on your puppy? this is the same image I posted in the last message as appears in chrome:

I taken image at 100% of zoom in chrome without resixing windows. I wonder if it is fault of my monitor with TN panel (1366x768) of Thinkpad L440, because the same image in Palemoon looks ok, not blurred

Many thanks Mike, meanwhile I booted Winblows (this notebook has winblows10 installed that I use only if forced to finish some works) and with Google chrome on Windows images in browser are as crisp as in Palemoon in Xenialpup

It seems an issue with chrome (and Vivaldi, since in Vivaldi i noted the same blurring) in xenialpup. Maybe it is worth to start a thread on xenialpup forum to ask to xenialpup users if they noticed the same issue
