Jacqueline Du Pre's Stradivari Cello, who owns it now?

A couple of weeks ago, following discussions about Jacqueline Du Pre,
someone mentioned that Yo-Yo Ma owns her Stradivari cello now.

Friday I went to a concert by the Boston Symphony Orchestra that featured
Lynn Harrel as a soloist in the Dvorak Cello Concerto (Roger Norrington
conducting)

The program notes mentioned that Harrel plays Du Pre's Stradivari Cello.
There was a date too, but right now I don't remember.

So who owns this instrument??? Or maybe did Du Pre own two different
Stradivari?

p.s. oh about the performance, it was a pretty good one. Although
I think I have been spoiled by Fournier's recording of the piece ....

It is also true that Du Pre had two Strads, both given to her by anonymous
benefactors. The one that Ma plays is the "Davidov", widely regarded as the
finest Stradivari cello in existence. I'm not sure who has the other one.
Maybe Baremboim still has it.

DuPre did in fact own two Stradivarius cellos. The first is that now
owned by Harrell, and the second was the "Davidoff", now played by
Yo-Yo Ma (I don't know if he owns it or not, but it was first loaned
to him by DuPre herself). Carol Easton's biography is a good source
of information of this sort, and there's also a memorial article in Strad
magazine from Feb 1988.

To my knowledge Jaqueline Du Pre in fact owned two Strads. One of them
went to Yo-Yo Ma, although he mostly uses his Montagnana cello. That
Mr.Harrel has the other Du Pre Strad is news to me too and seems to have
joined the club of world-class cellists who own a Strad and a Montagnana,
Heinrich Schiff beeing another example of that instrumental combination.

I thought the Davidov was the one that Harrell renamed the du Pré.

The strad that Harrell had was made in 1673. (I have been quite fortunate to have been able to play that instrument last year!!)

The Davidof was made in 1712, and is owned by the Chicago Stradivarius society and is on loan to Ma.
