There may be some minor errors (e.g. I believe the
Prokofiev Cinderella was only Suites 1 and 2 and was never
the full ballet, as suggested here).
Wasn't sure if there are any better ones out there.
Mine is more acurate and has the dates based upon the Decca file
cards.

Hi jeff,
ehh... do you have it on-line somewhere?
Rolf
I had it online for a while . I took it down to finish it as I only
had it finished till 1962. I wil, finish it this weekend and post it.
It will only be the Decca recordings with the SRO for now. The
recordings with other orchestras do not matter as explained by
Ansermet in an interview

In that case it is not the Ansermet discography.

I can add the other orchestras later. I will satrt with the most
important
Abbedd.
The London recordings don't matter??? Guess I'll have to throw them
out.....
What London Recordings. The ones with the LSO and LPO. No, they don't
matter as much as the ones with the SRO, if at all, according to
Ansermet
When I said Decca I meant Decca/London
By the way, I have a 45 with Weber - Jubel overture and Beethoven
Leonore.
Do you know when this was recorded/issued?
Rolf
I have that too but mine has the Corolian. The jubel was never relased
in th US probobaly recorded 1960. leonore # 2 was recrded in 1960 #3
in 1958 #3 was never released in the USA

Sounds like a good and methodical way to proceed.

Oh well, I still enjoy some of the LSO/LPO things. I guess I'm
surprised Ansermet disavowed them.
Looking forward to your SRO discography, in any case, thanks in advance.
he did not directly disavow them. He did by explaining the difference
between being a guest conductor and a regular conductor. In his case
this is more drastic as he founded, staffed and trained the SRO in his
unique image. The 1946 Petrushka with the LPO thrilled the world but
the 1949 version with the SRO is a hundred times better. Man for man,
on pape,r the SRO maybe cannot match the LPO but when Ansermet is
conducting they do, by giving Ansermet exactly and everything he needs

What a nonsense. More than 12 times better is not possible (Stravinsky, Abbado,
Davis, Boulez come close).
