Just received this via email, with the above subject line:

Dear Customers,

Effective April 1st, 2015, we will be closing down for inventory, prior to
relocating to a new fulfillment center. Our retail store will permanently
close and all business activity, including access to our website and
publication of our print catalog, will be temporarily suspended. We will send
out a notification when operations have resumed.

We will continue with our thrice weekly updates through Saturday March 28th.

Sincerely, Berkshire Record Outlet

Does anyone know when Berkshire will be reopening?

In the last email they sent, they were planning to reopen at the end of June, looks as though they did not make it. Their website is still active, although you cannot buy anything. We will just have to be patient.

In a different newsgroup I saw a post that BRO stated they under-estimated the work, but hope to be back on line in July sometime, but are not confident enough to put a date on it yet. They are relocating to Albany NY.

And they have no ability to update their web site during this time to
let us know?

Right now I'm sure they have other and overriding concerns.
They do what they do rather well, with a strong customer service component.
That is, up to now. I worry a bit about BRO,
because a small firm with an long-interrupted cash flow is very much at risk.

I'll tell you what, Steve. You can punish them by refusing
to purchase from them when they finally re-open.

The reason for my post is that I think something more serious is going
on if they're not updating their web site. Seen too many companies
close for remodeling or move and then go out of business.

As for what you feel I can do to "punish" them, I'll do as I please.

You don't need to tell me that you're going to do as you
please. I knew that already. As you know I had the right
to suggest a course of action for you.

The principle of Occam's razor suggests the two most likely
causes for BRO's
delay are that they had delays or that they forgot to update
the web site. Of course, it could have something to do with
aliens.

They should be rich, if only on account of what I buy!

In article <dvqdncCbpI2D5gfI...@supernews.com>, Frank
I would suspect:

1) A problem with packing up the thousands of CDs they had and
unpacking them in a new place, and being able to find them when they
need to ship them out. (i.e. order fulfillment)

2) A new software system.

Could be both.

From the old school way they do business, I'd bet the delay is simply that they are putting all their time into getting their business up and running and haven't gotten around to updating their website.

FB is an authoritative source on aliens.
The clincher is, it is impossible to find tinfoil in Albany.

The Republican legislators bought it all.

Uh, Sheldon "Shelly" Silver was the point man for tinfoil distribution (among other things) in Albany. He was the Speaker of the New York State Assembly from 1994-2015.

From The New York Times:

<< N.Y. / REGION

Sheldon Silver, Former Assembly Speaker, Is Indicted
By WILLIAM K. RASHBAUM
February 19, 2015

A federal grand jury in Manhattan voted on Thursday to indict Sheldon Silver on the fraud and extortion charges that were the basis of his arrest last month, and led to his ouster as speaker of the State Assembly.

Mr. Silver was arrested on Jan. 22 on a five-count criminal complaint that detailed two alleged bribery and kickback schemes in a case that has upended Albany. The three-count indictment, handed up in the United States District Courthouse in Manhattan, charged him with mail fraud, wire fraud and extortion under the color of official right.

The indictment of Mr. Silver, 71, a Lower East Side Democrat who had served as the powerful speaker for two decades, suggests there is little prospect of plea discussions at this stage in the case, and moves the matter toward a possible trial.

The accusations underlying the remaining three counts in the indictment hew closely to those detailed in the criminal complaint. They outline what prosecutors said were two schemes through which Mr. Silver used his office to obtain nearly $4 million in corrupt payments from two law firms over the last 15 years.

The indictment claims that Mr. Silver steered real estate developers to a small law firm that paid him kickbacks disguised as "referral fees." It also alleges that he directed state grants to a doctor who referred asbestos claims to Weitz & Luxenberg, a law firm where Mr. Silver was listed as "of counsel." Mr. Silver was entitled to receive 33 percent of the firm's share of any recovery on behalf of those clients. >>

For all we know, he still is. This is Albany, New York we're talking,
city of second, third and fourth acts. For every Dem legislator nabbed,
someone on the other side of the aisle goes down. We don't expect
to hear about them from you, Williamson, since everything you tell is slant.
(I'd trust your musical judgement even less).
