I too have the Sawallisch CD set of Der Mond and Die Kluge... there is no
libretto included.
Fortunately, I kept the libretto that came with the old LP set of the
Sawallisch DER MOND... unfortunately, I still have NO libretto for DIE
KLUGE... darn!
I have the Kegel set containing both works. No texts/translations.

I also have kept the two Sawallisch libretti from the LP era, with
good notes by William Mann (Der Mond) and Henry Pleasants (Die Kluge)
and a size which puts the readability of CD libretti (even when
provided) to shame.
I think you have mis-remembered that they came with the LPs, though.
They had to be purchased separately, at 4/6 each, but were well worth
it!

I do not have the LP copy of DIE KLUGE. I can only say that when I purchased
the LP copy of Sawallisch/DER MOND, a libretto was included with the
records. I don't know if it made a difference, but my purchase was made in
the US.
The Eichhorn set on Eurodisc (BMG) has texts in German but no
translation.

Ah. I was referring to the UK releases on 33CX 1446-7 (1957, Die
Kluge) and 33CX 1534-5 (1958, Der Mond).
We always thought the US had it better than us, and now you confirm
it!
